Carlos Alberto Sánchez Moreno (born 6 February 1986) is a Colombian former professional Association football, footballer who played as a Midfielder#Defensive midfielder, defensive midfielder. He is nicknamed ''La Roca'' (''The Rock''), due to his strength. He began his career at River Plate Montevideo before moving to Valenciennes FC, Valenciennes in 2007, where he made 178 Ligue 1 appearances and scored ten goals across six seasons. He later played in La Liga for Elche CF, Elche and RCD Espanyol, Espanyol, the Premier League for Aston Villa F.C., Aston Villa and Serie A for ACF Fiorentina, Fiorentina. A full international since 2007, Sánchez has earned over 80 caps for Colombia.
