Carlos Rivera Guerra, better known as Carlos Rivera (born March 15, 1986), is a Mexican singer. He rose to fame by winning the third generation of ''La Academia''. Rivera has released four studio albums and participated in six theatre productions. Early life Rivera was born March 15, 1986, in Huamantla, Tlaxcala, Mexico. His wit made him a hometown celebrity from a young age, and continued after winning singing competitions and hosting a radio show on Radio Huamantla. His big break came in 2004. After many try-outs and auditions, he garnered a spot in the reality television singing competition ''La Academia'', produced by TV Azteca. After a series of challenges and critiques, including solos and duets, Rivera won over 80% of the votes from the judges and was crowned the winner for season three. Carlos Alberto Rivera (born June 10, 1978) is a Puerto Rican former professional baseball first baseman. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Career He was drafted by the Pirates in the 10th round of the 1996 Major League Baseball draft. Rivera played his first professional season with their Rookie league GCL Pirates in , and last played with an MLB-affiliated team in with the Colorado Rockies' Triple-A team, the Colorado Springs Sky Sox. In , Rivera hit .410 with 16 home runs and 73 RBI in 101 games for the Oaxaca Warriors in the Mexican League and was a midseason All-Star. Carlos Rubén Rivera Moulton (born 30 May 1979) is a retired Panamanian football defender. Club career Rivera played for several Panamanian clubs but also had spells abroad with Colombian club Independiente Medellín and Iranian side Persepolis, whom he joined in 2005 alongside compatriot José Anthony Torres. Masso is a former member of Menudo, joining the band at the height of Menudo's worldwide fame. Carlos Rivera Rivera (born 1955 or 1956) is a Spanish independent politician who has been mayor of Torremocha de Jarama in the Community of Madrid since the first democratic elections in 1979. Biography Rivera studied for seven years in a seminary and said in 2021 that he would consider priesthood when he leaves politics. He was 23 when he was first elected mayor, having been prompted to run by negative local events such as the closing of his town's only school in 1974. During Rivera's mandate, his town grew from 140 inhabitants to over 1,000. He set up a public-run retirement home and a co-operative for the elderly.
