Carlos Gabriel Salazar
Carlos Gabriel Salazar (born 5 September 1964) is an Argentine former professional boxer who competed from 1985 to 1998. He is a world champion in two weight classes, having held the IBF super flyweight title from 1995 to 1996, and the WBO flyweight title from 1996 and 1998. Professional career As a professional he had 58 fights (47–3–8), from 1985 to 1998. He campaigned at the flyweight and super flyweight divisions, winning world titles in both. After 3 unsuccessful attempts at the world title, Salazar became the IBF World super flyweight champion when he beat Harold Grey in 1995. He would defend the title once before losing it to the same Harold Grey. After that he decided to move down to flyweight and campaign for the WBO World title, winning it against Alberto Jiménez. Hiroshi Kawashima
Hiroshi Kawashima ( ja, 川島 郭志; born March 27, 1970) is a former professional boxer. He defended the WBC super flyweight title six times. Childhood and early career Kawashima began boxing from an early age under the guidance of his father. His older brother, Shinobu Kawashima, also became a professional boxer, and would later challenge the IBF flyweight title. Kawashima won the national high school boxing tournament in his senior year, defeating future world champion Katsuya Onizuka in the semi-finals. He moved to Tokyo after graduating from high school, and made his professional debut in August, 1988. Professional career Kawashima did not make an ideal start to his career, recording two knockout losses in his first six professional fights. History The first title match in this division was in 1980, when the World Boxing Council responded to pressure from Asian and Latin American members who felt the difference between the flyweight limit and the bantamweight limit was too significant. Sot Chitalada ( th, สด จิตรลดา, ), born as Chaovalit Wongcharoean ( th, เชาวลิต วงศ์เจริญ; ; 5 May 1962, in Chonburi, Thailand) was formerly twice WBC and Lineal Flyweight Champion, having defended the title against nine boxers in total. Professional boxing career Chitalada built a reputation as a Muay Thai fighter under the name Chaovalit Sitphraphrom ( th, เชาวลิต ศิษย์พระพรหม) before making the transition to professional boxing. Hugo Rafael Soto
Hugo Rafael Soto (born 16 August 1967 in San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca, Argentina) is a former professional boxer. Professional career Fighting in the flyweight and super flyweight divisions, Soto had his first professional fight in 1988. He built up a record of 39-1-2 to earn a fight with WBC flyweight champion Yuri Arbachakov, but lost by an eighth round knockout. Two years later, he lost a unanimous decision to reigning WBO flyweight champion Johnny Tapia. He captured the WBA flyweight title in May 1998, defeating Jose Bonilla by a split decision. Soto lost the title in his first defence against Leo Gámez, who knocked him out in the third round. He had his final fight in 2004, losing a decision to future world champion Jorge Linares, and retired with a final record of 55-10-2.
