Carlos Adrián Morales
Carlos Adrián Morales Higuera (born 6 September 1979) is a Mexican former professional footballer. He last played for Lobos BUAP on loan from Morelia in Liga MX. A versatile midfielder and accurate set-piece taker, Carlos can play as a central midfielder, winger, wing-back and full-back. He began his career by debuting with Mexico's Ascenso MX La Piedad (based on the city in the Mexican State of Michoacán) (1997-'98), then was brought forth to Liga MX by Morelia (1998–2001, 2002–2004, 2012), later on he would move to Pachuca (2001–2002), Tigres (2003–2006), Toluca (2006–2009), Tecos (2009) and Santos Laguna (2010-2012). Carlos is the brother of Ramón Morales, a former footballer. Santos Laguna
Club Santos Laguna S.A. de C.V. (), commonly known as Santos Laguna or Santos, is a Mexican professional football club that competes in the Liga MX. It is located in northern Mexico and represents the urban area of La Comarca Lagunera, made up of the surrounding municipalities of Torreón, Gómez Palacio , Lerdo and Matamoros . Santos Laguna was founded in 1983 and reached Mexico's top division after buying the Ángeles de Puebla club. The club debuted in first division in the 1988–89 season. 2005 InterLiga
For 2005, Mexico was granted a third berth in the Libertadores. The Mexican federation decided to grant one of its Libertadores berths ("Mexico 1") based strictly on play during the league season, but retained InterLiga for the other two spots ("Mexico 2" and "Mexico 3"). The group phase of InterLiga remained the same as in 2004, but the final games were changed. The top team from each group plays the second-place team from the opposite group, with both winners advancing to Copa Libertadores. Of the two final winners, the one with the highest point total during group play will be designated "Mexico 2" and automatically advance to the group stage. The other final winner will be "Mexico 3", and will enter the preliminary round of Copa Libertadores. The 2005 InterLiga was again played in California and Texas, and expanded into Arizona. InterLiga
The InterLiga was a football competition from 2004 to 2010 between Mexican clubs to determine qualifying spots for that country in South America's premier club competition, the Copa Libertadores. Prior to the 2004 Copa Libertadores, Mexican clubs competed in two levels of competition—first against one another, and then against clubs from Venezuela—for spots in the main competition. In 2004, Mexico and Venezuela were granted automatic entries to the Copa Libertadores for the first time. The Mexican Football Federation decided to create a qualifying league for its two automatic spots, and the first InterLiga was held that January, during the off-season of the Mexican Primera División. The Supercopa MX ( en, Supercup MX) was a Mexican football championship contested by the winners of the Apertura and Clausura Copa MX. History In June 2013 Liga MX president Decio De María announced the winners of Apertura and Clausura Copa MX will face each other and the winner will qualify to the following year's Copa Libertadores as "Mexico 3". On June 20, 2014 it was announced the two teams would face each other in a two-legged home-and-away series called ''SuperCopa MX''. The 2015 edition SuperCopa MX was a single match at a neutral venue, Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas, United States, making Mexico the fourth nation (after Italy, France and Turkey) and first North American nation to stage its Super Cup abroad.
