Carl-Åke Eriksson
Carl-Åke Eriksson (16 November 1934 – 7 November 2015) was a Swedish actor known for playing the sinister SS vampire in the horror-comedy Frostbite. He also appeared in several other high-profile Swedish productions like The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest, Mysteriet på Greveholm and The Simple-Minded Murderer. He was most active at Malmö City Theatre. Biography In the 1970s, Eriksson had a successful career at Malmö City Theatre, winning awards for playing McMurphy in '' One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest'' and George in ''Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?'' on stage. He appeared in a play by Lars Norén and had several minor roles in TV-series and films. In the early 1990s he had problems with alcohol and started to attend Alcoholics Anonymous. ''Frostbite'' ( sv, Frostbiten) is a Swedish comedy horror film from 2006 directed by Anders Banke. As well as the horror theme, various parts also have pure humour elements, and it is considered a horror/comedy by some newspapers that rated it. ''Mysteriet på Greveholm'' (''"The Mystery at Greveholm"'') was the 1996 Swedish '' SVT Christmas Calendar'' production. It was released on VHS in October 1997 and on DVD 19 November 2001. It was voted the best ''Julkalender'' ever in Aftonbladet in 2007. A video game with the same name was released in 1997, and two sequels in 1998 (''Mysteriet på Greveholm 2: Resan till Planutus'') and 2000 (''Mysteriet på Greveholm 3: Den gamla legenden''). Malmö City Theatre ( sv, Malmö stadsteater) in Malmö, Sweden, is the main theatre of Malmö. History The first theatre in Malmö, Malmö Teater, was built in 1808 but became out of use in 1938. ''One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest'' (1963) is a play based on Ken Kesey's 1962 novel of the same name. Productions Dale Wasserman's stage adaptation, with music by Teiji Ito, made its Broadway preview on November 12, 1963, its premiere on November 13, and ran until January 25, 1964 for a total of one preview and 82 performances. Since then, the play has had two revivals: first off-Broadway in 1971, directed by Lee Sankowich with Danny DeVito as Martini, then as a Broadway production in 2001 with Gary Sinise as McMurphy. ''Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?'' is a play by Edward Albee first staged in October 1962. It examines the complexities of the marriage of a middle-aged couple, Martha and George. Late one evening, after a university faculty party, they receive an unwitting younger couple, Nick and Honey, as guests, and draw them into their bitter and frustrated relationship. The play is in three acts, normally taking a little less than three hours to perform, with two 10-minute intermissions. The title is a pun on the song "Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?" from Walt Disney's ''Three Little Pigs'' (1933), substituting the name of the celebrated English author Virginia Woolf. Lars Göran Ingemar Norén (9 April 1944 – 26 January 2021) was a Swedish playwright, novelist and poet. His plays are realistic and often revolve around family and personal relations, either among people who are impoverished and rooted at the bottom of society, or people who live in material comfort but emotional insecurity. Career His first publication was a collection of poems - ''Syrener, snö'' (Lilac, snow) in 1963. He was among the contributors of '' Puss'' satirical magazine in late 1960s. Norén's play ''7:3'' became a centre of controversy, after the murders of two policemen in Malexander in 1999 (''The Malexander murders''). The culprits had received furloughs from their incarceration at Österåker Prison to participate in Norén's play. He was a Sommarvärd on P1's "Sommar" on 19 June 2005. Anders Banke
Anders Banke (born 2 August 1969) is a Swedish director. He was born and raised in Ystad and developed an early interest in film. He was trained as a director at VGIK in Moscow and learned to speak Russian. There he met his friend and future collaborator Chris Maris. In 1998 he came across a horror comedy script written by Daniel Ojanlatva about a town north of the Arctic Circle being terrorized by vampires. Banke loved the idea and spent several years developing it with Ojanlatva. Since the Swedish Film Institute doesn't often approve of horror films or genre movies in general, Banke had a hard time pulling the film off. In the end, got funding from the Swedish Film Institute needed to attract other producers to the project in 2004 and production could begin. The film was Sweden's first vampire film.
