''Cardinal Syn'' is a fighting video game developed by Kronos Digital Entertainment, the creators of '' Criticom'' and '' Dark Rift'', and published by Sony in 1998. Gameplay ''Cardinal Syn'' is 3D fighting game with free roaming features that allow the player to move around a small interactive stage during the fight, similar to '' Ehrgeiz''. The combatants are designed out of a dark fantasy world similar to '' Dungeons & Dragons'', a great number of them non-human, each armed with melee weapons fitting for the style. The title character gives access to combos, juggles, stage hazards, finishing moves, projectiles and battlefield power-ups. Small crates found in each stage can be broken open to acquire items. Kronos Digital Entertainment was an American computer animated, computer animation and video game developer founded by Stan Liu in 1992. They first began to develop original properties, beginning with their visually appealing early 3D graphics, 3D fighting games, ''Criticom'', ''Dark Rift'' and ''Cardinal Syn'' (referred to as the "Trilogy of Terror" by one gaming journalist). The organization later gained greater critical and commercial success for the ''Fear Effect'' series with Eidos Interactive, Eidos, although Kronos retained all rights to the franchise. Kronos was busy developing the third installment in that series, ''Fear Effect Inferno'', when publisher Eidos discontinued funding for the project following a major restructuring of their budget. The developer then shopped it around to other publishers but were unable to secure another deal to get the game finished. , fully titled ''Ehrgeiz: God Bless the Ring'', is a 3D fighting video game developed by DreamFactory and published by Namco in 1998 for the arcade platform. It was first ported to the PlayStation and published by Square Co. in 1998, then to Japan's PlayStation Network by Square Enix in 2008. The game includes characters from ''Final Fantasy VII''. Cloud Strife and Tifa Lockhart are playable in the arcade and the PlayStation versions; in addition, Sephiroth, Yuffie Kisaragi, Vincent Valentine, and Zack Fair were added to the PlayStation version's roster. GameRankings was a video gaming review aggregator that was founded in 1999 and owned by CBS Interactive. It indexed over 315,000 articles relating to more than 14,500 video games. GameRankings was discontinued in December 2019, with its staff being merged with the similar aggregator Metacritic. Rankings GameRankings collected and linked to (but did not host) reviews from other websites and magazines and averages specific ones. While hundreds of reviews may get listed, only the ones that GameRankings deemed notable were used for the average. Scores were culled from numerous American and European sources.
