Pazuzu (The Exorcist)
Pazuzu is a fictional character who is the main antagonist in ''The Exorcist'' horror novels and film series, created by William Peter Blatty. Blatty derived the character from Assyrian and Babylonian mythology, where the mythic Pazuzu was considered the king of the demons of the wind, and the son of the god Hanbi. In ''The Exorcist'', Pazuzu appears as a demon who possesses Regan MacNeil. Pazuzu is often depicted as a combination of animal and human parts with his right hand pointing upwards and his left hand downwards. He has the body of a man, the head of a lion or dog, eagle-like taloned feet, two pairs of wings, a scorpion's tail, and a serpentine penis. Captain Howdy was an alternative rock band formed by Mark Kramer and Penn Jillette that existed between 1992 and 1997. The group disbanded in 1997 when Penn relocated to Las Vegas. ''Stay Hungry'' is the third studio album by American heavy metal band Twisted Sister. Released on May 10, 1984, the album includes the band's two most well-known songs, " We're Not Gonna Take It" and "I Wanna Rock". According to RIAA certification, ''Stay Hungry'' is the band's most successful album by far and the only certified platinum. Eventually the album gained multi-platinum status with U.S. sales of more than 3,000,000 copies by 1995. During recording, producer Tom Werman brought some songs by NWOBHM band Saxon for the band to listen to, this led to a conflict with Dee Snider who understood it as Werman wanting the band to replace some of his songs with Saxon covers. Strangeland (film)
''Strangeland'' is a 1998 American horror film written by Dee Snider and directed by John Pieplow. The film centers around a police detective trying to save his city, as well as his daughter, from an online predator who enjoys bringing "enlightenment" through ritual pain. The film has a strong emphasis on the Modern Primitive subculture and its ethos of spiritual transcendence through painful rites, showing several such different practices therein.
