Computer-aided Process Planning
# Computer-aided process planning (CAPP) is the use of computer technology to aid in the process planning of a part or product, in manufacturing. # CAPP is the link between Computer-aided design, CAD and Computer-aided manufacturing, CAM in that it provides for the planning of the process to be used in producing a designed part. Computer-aided process planning # CAPP is a link between the CAD and CAM modules. # Process planning is concerned with determining the sequence of individual manufacturing operations needed to produce a given part or product. # The resulting operation sequence is documented on a form typically referred to as a " Route Sheet" (also called a process sheet/method sheet) containing a listing of the production operations and associated machine tools for a work part or assembly. # Process planning in manufacturing also refers to the planning of use of blanks, spare parts, packaging material, user instructions (manuals), etc. # As the term "computer-aided prod ... Controlled Access Protection Profile
The Controlled Access Protection Profile, also known as CAPP, is a Common Criteria security profile that specifies a set of functional and assurance requirements for information technology products. Software and systems that conform to CAPP standards provide access controls that are capable of enforcing access limitations on individual users and data objects. CAPP-conformant products also provide an audit capability which records the security-relevant events which occur within the system. CAPP is intended for the protection of software and systems where users are assumed to be non-hostile and well-managed, requiring protection primarily against threats of inadvertent or casual attempts to breach the security protections. It is not intended to be applicable to circumstances in which protection is required against determined attempts by hostile and well-funded attackers. It does not fully address the threats posed by malicious system development or administrative personnel, who genera ... Content Addressable Parallel Processor
A content-addressable parallel processor (CAPP) also known as ''associative processor'' is a type of parallel processor which uses content-addressing memory (CAM) principles. CAPPs are intended for bulk computation. The syntactic structure of their computing algorithm are simple, whereas the number of concurrent processes may be very large, only limited by the number of locations in the CAM. The best-known CAPP may be STARAN, completed in 1972; several similar systems were later built in other countries. A CAPP is distinctly different from a Von Neumann architecture The von Neumann architecture — also known as the von Neumann model or Princeton architecture — is a computer architecture based on a 1945 description by John von Neumann, and by others, in the '' First Draft of a Report on the EDVAC''. Ceramide-activated Protein Phosphatase
Ceramide-activated protein phosphatases (CAPPs) are a group of enzymes that are activated by the lipid second messenger ceramide. Known CAPPs include members of the protein phosphatase 1 (PP1) and protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) families. CAPPs are a subset of intracellular serine/threonine phosphatases. Each CAPP consists of a catalytic subunit which confers phosphatase activity and a regulatory subunit which confers substrate specificity. CAPP involvement has been implicated in glycogen metabolism, apoptotic pathways related to cancer and other cellular pathways related to Alzheimer’s disease. Structure Ceramide-activated PP2A As a member of the PP2A family, CAPPs can consist of one to three PP2A subunits (Janssens & Goris, 2001). The core enzyme consists of a conserved 34 kilodalton (kDa) catalytic subunit, C, and a conserved 65 kDa scaffold subunit, A, tightly bound to one another (Janssens & Goris, 2001). The scaffold subunit contains 15 tandem HEAT repeats which arrange ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Medical Injury Compensation Reform Act
The Medical Injury Compensation Reform Act (MICRA) of 1975 was a statute enacted by the California Legislature in September 1975 (and signed into law by Governor Jerry Brown in September), which was intended to lower medical malpractice liability insurance premiums for healthcare providers in that state by decreasing their potential tort liability. MICRA's stated justification, in turn, was to keep healthcare providers as a whole financially solvent, thus lowering the cost of healthcare services and increasing their availability. MICRA's constitutionality was repeatedly challenged during the 1970s and 1980s, but most of it was eventually upheld as constitutional under rational basis review by the Supreme Court of California or the California Courts of Appeal. Almost all of MICRA is still in effect and still part of California law, though many of its provisions were updated in 2022 by AB 35. Provisions Damage cap Non-economic damages are limited to $250,000. Non-economic damages ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Canadian Association Of Petroleum Producers
Canadians (french: Canadiens) are people identified with the country of Canada. This connection may be residential, legal, historical or cultural. For most Canadians, many (or all) of these connections exist and are collectively the source of their being ''Canadian''. Canada is a multilingual and multicultural society home to people of groups of many different ethnic, religious, and national origins, with the majority of the population made up of Old World immigrants and their descendants. Following the initial period of French and then the much larger British colonization, different waves (or peaks) of immigration and settlement of non-indigenous peoples took place over the course of nearly two centuries and continue today. Elements of Indigenous, French, British, and more recent immigrant customs, languages, and religions have combined to form the culture of Canada, and thus a Canadian identity. Canada has also been strongly influenced by its linguistic, geographic, and ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |

Canadians Against Proroguing Parliament
On 23 January 2010 there were numerous protests opposing the prorogation of the 40th Canadian Parliament. The prorogation had occurred a month earlier on 30 December 2009 on the constitutional advice of Prime Minister of Canada Stephen Harper and was officially carried out by Governor General Michaëlle Jean. Protests were held in over 60 cities and towns in Canada, and internationally in New York City, San Francisco, Dallas, London, Oman, Brussels, Amsterdam, The Hague and Costa Rica. The protests and rallies attracted approximately 21,000 participants, including many who had joined a group on Facebook, known as the "Canadians Against Proroguing Parliament" (CAPP). At the 23 January rallies in Ottawa and Toronto, Liberal Party leader Michael Ignatieff, New Democratic Party (NDP) leader Jack Layton, Green Party leader Elizabeth May, and Member of Parliament Bob Rae spoke against the prorogation, while at the rally in Montreal, Bloc Québécois leader Gilles Duceppe spoke alo ...
