Capital University of Economics and Business (CUEB) () is a modern, multi-disciplinary financial and economic public university in Beijing, China. Founded in 1956 when the Ministry of Education founded the Beijing Economics Institute. In 1995, The Beijing government combined the Beijing Economics Institute and the Beijing Finance and Trade Institute creating Capital University of Economics and Business. CUEB is one of Beijing's three key universities, a member of Beijing-Hong Kong Universities Alliance. Wu Wei (), also known by her English name Maggie Wu, is a Chinese business executive who is the chief financial officer of Alibaba Group, a family of Internet-based businesses. She was responsible for instituting Alibaba.com's financial systems and organization leading up to its initial public offering in Hong Kong in November 2007, as well as co-leading the privatization of Alibaba.com in 2012. Misty Poets
The Misty Poets () are a group of 20th-century Chinese poets who reacted against the restrictions on art during the Cultural Revolution. They are so named because their work has been officially denounced as "obscure", "misty", or "hazy" poetry (''menglong shi''). But according to Gu Cheng, "the defining characteristic of this new type of poetry is its realism—it begins with objective realism but veers towards a subjective realism; it moves from a passive reaction toward active creation." The movement was initially centered on the magazine ''Jintian'' (), which was founded by Bei Dao and Mang Ke and published from 1978 until 1980, when it was banned. Guo Lusheng is among the earliest poets of the sent-down youth generation poets and was an inspiration for several of the original Misty Poets. Bei Ling ( zh, t=貝嶺) (born December 28, 1959 in Beijing) is a Chinese poet, and journal editor. He is usually associated with the Chinese misty poets. Life He came to the United States on an exchange, he was a fellow at Brown University. After the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989, in 1992, he founded the literary journal (Tendency)''. In 2000, he opened an office in Beijing. He launched a literary magazine named ''Tendency'' in 1993 as a platform for young underground writers' talents. On August 13, 2000, he was detained for 14 days at the Qinghe Detention Center, and charged with "illegal publication." After an international protest, he was fined $24,000, and deported.
