Cape D'Aguilar
Cape D'Aguilar () is a cape on Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong. The cape is on the southeastern end of D'Aguilar Peninsula. To its north are Shek O and D'Aguilar Peak. Name It is named after Major-General George Charles d'Aguilar. Geography Cape D'Aguilar is in the Southern District. Nearby, there are two small islands collectively called Kau Pei Chau (). A channel called Sheung Sze Mun () is located close to the cape. Marine Reserve Cape D'Aguilar is environmentally protected as part of the Cape D'Aguilar Marine Reserve. Cape D'Aguilar Lighthouse Cape D'Aguilar Lighthouse is one of the declared monuments of Hong Kong. It is also known as Hok Tsui Beacon. The lighthouse is one of five pre-war surviving lighthouses in Hong Kong; it is also the oldest lighthouse in Hong Kong. Kau Pei Chau
Kau Pei Chau is an uninhabited islet located off the coast of Hong Kong Island on its southeastern end, about 50 metres (165 feet) off the tip of Cape D'Aguilar. Administratively, it is part of Southern District. Kau Pei Chau has a length of . It is located directly south of the Cape D’Aguilar Marine Reserve. Name Kau Pei () literally means the thigh of a dog. Its original name in Chinese is Kau Pui (), which is a divination tool used in temples to request an answer from the gods in ancient China. Declared monuments of Hong Kong are places, structures or buildings legally declared to receive the highest level of protection. Green Island is an island off the northwest coast of Kennedy Town, Hong Kong Island, separated by the Sulphur Channel. A smaller island nearby to the east, uninhabited, is called Little Green Island (). Administratively, the two islands are part of Central and Western District. Buildings Green Island is largely uninhabited and at the east coast is Green Island Reception Centre and Green Island Police Station. On the top of the hill is an office of the Marine Department and a lighthouse southwest guides the ships in Sulphur Channel. A Fresnel lens ( ; ; or ) is a type of composite compact lens developed by the French physicist Augustin-Jean Fresnel (1788–1827) for use in lighthouses. Tang Lung Chau
Tang Lung Chau () is a islet located off the southern coast of Ma Wan island to the northwest of Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong. Lighthouse Tang Lung Chau Lighthouse and the former light keeper's house, located on Tang Lung Chau, was declared a monument on 29 December 2000. The lighthouse, also commonly known as Kap Sing Lighthouse, was put into service on 29 April 1912; it is one of the five surviving pre-war lighthouses in Hong Kong. It is a skeletal steel tower of high with a white lantern on top. The steel tower and light apparatus were obtained from England. The lighthouse, unmanned and automated, is now under the management of the Marine Department. There is a bedroom, a kitchen, a latrine and a store room in the adjoining brick light keeper's house. There was no spring or fresh water supply on the island so the light keeper of Tang Lung Chau Lighthouse used rainwater which was collected from the roof and then diverted into an underground tank.
