Canton Of Val-Couesnon
The Canton of Val-Couesnon (before March 2020: ''canton of Antrain'') is a canton of France, in the Ille-et-Vilaine ''département'', located in the northeast of the department. At the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015, the canton was expanded from 10 to 31 communes (11 of which merged into the new communes Maen Roch, Les Portes du Coglais, Saint-Marc-le-Blanc and Val-Couesnon). The Union for a Popular Movement (french: link=no, Union pour un mouvement populaire, ; UMP, ) was a centre-right political party in France that was one of the two major contemporary political parties in France along with the centre-left Socialist Party (PS). The UMP was formed in 2002 as a merger of several centre-right parties under the leadership of President Jacques Chirac. In May 2015, the party was renamed and succeeded by The Republicans ('). Vieux-Vy-sur-Couesnon (, literally ''Vieux-Vy on Couesnon''; br, Henwig-ar-C'houenon; Gallo: ''Vioez-Vic'') is a commune in the Ille-et-Vilaine department in Brittany in northwestern France. Geography Vieux-Vy-sur-Couesnon is located on the Couesnon River 33 km northeast of Rennes and south of Mont Saint-Michel. Saint-Germain-en-Coglès (, pronounced as ''Saint-Germain-en-Cogles''; br, Sant-Jermen-Gougleiz) is a commune in the Ille-et-Vilaine department of Brittany in northwestern France. Population Inhabitants of Saint-Germain-en-Coglès are called ''germanais'' in French. History The parish is named after Germanus of Auxerre in the fifth century. In the twelfth century, it belonged to the abbey of Saint-Florent de Saumur before being united to the diocese of Rennes XIV. The present church retains some elements of Romanesque tombstones of the previous building.
