The canton of Le Haut-Minervois is an administrative division of the Aude department, southern France. It was created at the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015. Its seat is in Rieux-Minervois. The cantons of France are territorial subdivisions of the France, French Republic's Departments of France, departments and Arrondissements of France, arrondissements. Apart from their role as organizational units in relation to certain aspects of the administration of public services and justice, the chief purpose of the cantons today is to serve as Constituency, constituencies for the election of members of the representative assemblies established in each of France's territorial departments (Departmental council (France), departmental councils, formerly general councils). Villegly (; oc, Vilaglin) is a commune in the Aude department in southern France. Geography Villegly is a village at the edge of the Minervois area at the confluence of two streams, the Clamoux and the Seize (also spelt CeizeInstitut Géographique National ''Carte Topographique Série Bleu'' Map 2345E). It is about 14 km north-east of Carcassonne on the D620. The commune sits on the lowest foothills of the Montagne Noire at about 200 metres above sea level and has an area of 983 hectares. History Evidence of many periods of its history can be seen in the buildings of Villegly. The mediaeval Château de Villegly has been restored many times and demonstrates the architecture of the Renaissance and the Fin de siècle periods. The church has a thirteenth-century bell tower. Peyriac-Minervois
Peyriac-Minervois (Peiriac de Menerbés in occitan) is a commune in the Aude department in southern France. Historically and cultually speaking, the commune is in the Minervois country, a land of rolling hills with a reputation for its wine production. Peyriac-Minervois is under a mediterranean climate and is drained by the Argent-Double river. Peyriac-Minervois is a rural commune of 1 177 inhabitants in 2020, that has lived a great population increase since 1975 thanks to its position in Carcassonne's area of attraction.
