Canton Of Dol-de-Bretagne
The Canton of Dol-de-Bretagne is a canton of France, in the Ille-et-Vilaine '' département'', located in the north of the department. At the French canton reorganisation which came into effect in March 2015, the canton was expanded from 8 to 31 communes. Dol-de-Bretagne
Dol-de-Bretagne (, literally ''Dol of Brittany''; br, Dol; Gallo: ''Dóu''), cited in most historical records under its Breton name of Dol, is a commune in the Ille-et-Vilaine ''département'' in Brittany in northwestern France. Sains ( Gallo: ''Saent'', ) is a commune in the Ille-et-Vilaine department in Brittany in northwestern France. History Treaties between France and England placed Brittany under English rule. In 1402 the French and English were getting along a little better, after many decades of disputes in 1518 a treaty was signed giving England ownership of Brittany, hostages were handed over by the French as a guarantee that the treaty would be honoured. The Lords of Sains in Brittany were party to many of the meetings and discussions, and involved in agreeing terms.
