These are the results of the men's K-1 slalom competition in canoeing at the 2004 Summer Olympics. The K-1 (kayak single) event is raced by one-man kayaks through a whitewater course. Slalom Canoeing
Canoe slalom (previously known as whitewater slalom) is a competitive sport with the aim to navigate a Spraydeck, decked canoe or kayak through a course of hanging downstream or upstream gates on Whitewater, river rapids in the fastest time possible. It is one of the two kayak and canoeing disciplines at the Summer Olympics, and is referred to by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as Canoe/Kayak Slalom. The other Olympic canoeing discipline is canoe racing, canoe sprint. Wildwater canoeing is a non-Olympic paddlesport. Eoin Rheinisch
Eoin Rheinisch (born 21 February 1980 in Dublin) is an Irish slalom canoeist and three-time Olympic competitor. He competed at the international level from 1996 to 2013. He is from Leixlip, County Kildare. Olympic record Rheinisch competed at the Summer Olympic Games in 2004, 2008 and 2012. He competed in the 2004 Olympic K1 event where he finished 21st of 25 overall, exiting the competition after the heats. He came fourth in the 2008 Olympics K1 event. Michael "Mike" Kurt (born 2 April 1980) is a Swiss slalom canoeist who competed at the international level from 1996 to 2016. He won a gold medal in the K1 team event at the 2003 ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships in Augsburg. He also won four medals at the European Championships (1 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronzes). Benjamin Kudjow Thomas Boukpeti (born August 4, 1981 in Lagny-sur-Marne, France) is a French-born Togolese slalom canoeist who competed at the international level from 2003 to 2012. Floris Braat (born 29 September 1979, in Eindhoven) is a Dutch slalom canoeist who competed at the international level from 1994 to 2004. Braat started his canoe racing career at the age of 10 in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.
