Canet-en-Roussillon (; ca, Canet de Rosselló, ; oc, Canet de Rosselhon, ) is a commune and town in the French department of the Pyrénées-Orientales, administrative region of Occitania. Geography Canet-en-Roussillon is located in the canton of La Côte Sableuse and in the arrondissement of Perpignan, to the east of Perpignan. History The city walls were destroyed in the 19th century. Le Cannet (; oc, Lo Canet; older it, Canneto) is a commune of the Alpes-Maritimes department in southeastern France. Administration Le Cannet was part of Cannes until 1778, when it was made a separate commune. Location Le Cannet is located in the north of Cannes, on the French Riviera, approximately 2 kilometers from the Mediterranean Sea. The two cities form a single urban area. It has a typical Mediterranean climate. Canet lo Roig () is a municipality in the ''comarca'' of Baix Maestrat in the Valencian Community, Spain. The Serra de Sant Pere rises southeast of the town and the Cérvol River flows north of it. Guillaume Canet (; born 10 April 1973) is a French actor, film director and screenwriter, and show jumper. Canet began his career in theatre and television before moving to film. He starred in several films like ''Joyeux Noël'', '' Love Me If You Dare'' and '' The Beach''. In 2006, he turned to writing and directing with ''Tell No One'' and won a César Award for Best Director. Early life and career Guillaume Canet was born in Boulogne-Billancourt on 10 April 1973 to a family of horse breeders. Canet intended to become a show jumper and was a member of the junior French National Equestrian Team. However, after a fall from his horse at age 18 he turned to acting and enrolled in the Cours Florent drama school.
