The Goa Legislative Assembly is the unicameral legislature of the state of Goa in India. The Assembly meets at the Goa State Legislative Assembly Complex in Porvorim, Bardez. The Eighth Goa Legislative Assembly consists of 40 members. The assembly is in charge of the budget, the Assembly appropriates money for social programs, agricultural development, infrastructure development, etc. It is also responsible for proposing and levying taxes. Isidore Fernandes
Isidore Fernandes (born 2 January 1947) is an Indian prelate of the Catholic Church who served as the tenth Bishop of the Diocese of Allahabad from 1988 until 2013. Early life Isidore was born in Kalathur, Udupi on 2 January 1947, to Casmir and Lucy Fernandes. Priesthood Isidore completed his high school studies at St. Mary's High School in Shirva, Udupi, Karnataka. He then joined the St. Paul's Minor Seminary in Lucknow and was then sent to the prestigious Papal Seminary in Pune, where he studied philosophy and theology. Isidore was ordained to the priesthood by Most. Rev. William Gomes, the then Bishop of Poona, on 29 October 1972. The Goa legislative assembly election was held on 3 March 2012, to select the 40 members of the Sixth Goa Legislative Assembly, as the term of Sixth Legislative Assembly ended on March 2012.
