Campeonato Uruguayo De Fútbol Femenino
The Women's Uruguayan Championship is the highest division of women's football in Uruguay, and is organized by the Uruguayan Football Association since 1997, from a FIFA request. Format The current format, first played in 2014, is divided into two stages. The first stage in played in three to four team groups. The best teams then advance to the championship round, called Copa de Oro, while the last placed teams play for the Copa de Plata. Both rounds in the second stage are played with about 7 teams. The winner of the Copa de Oro is the national champion and qualifies to the Copa Libertadores Femenina. The losers of the Copa de Plata are relegated to the Campeonato Uruguayo Femenino B. Since 2017 the Apertura and Clausura format is played. In 2017 there were two stages. In the first stage there were seven teams that played each other once. CONMEBOL
The South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL, , or CSF; es, Confederación Sudamericana de Fútbol; pt, Confederação Sul-Americana de Futebol) is the continental governing body of football in South America (apart from Guyana, Suriname and French Guiana) and it is one of FIFA's six continental confederations. Inau
Inau or Inaw ( Ainu: イナウ or イナゥ) is an Ainu term for a ritual wood-shaving stick used in Ainu prayers to the spiritual world. They were used in most Ainu religious rituals, and were also frequently made to request assistance for hunting and childbirth. Some can be used multiple times, while others are destroyed immediately after one use. Their size and the direction in which they are shaved depends on which kamuy it is offered to and what is being requested. The Uruguayan football league system is a series of interconnected football leagues for clubs in Uruguay, and is organized by the Uruguayan Football Association at the national level. The CONMEBOL Libertadores Femenina, named as "Copa Libertadores Femenina" ( pt, Copa Libertadores Feminina or Taça Libertadores Feminina) is an annual international women's association football club competition in South America. It is organized by the South American Football Federation (CONMEBOL). The competition started in the 2009 season in response to the increased interest in women's football. It is the only CONMEBOL club competition for women. The tournament is the women's version of the Copa Libertadores, which is organized since 1960. Club Atlético Peñarol is the women's football section of the Uruguayan sports club Peñarol based in Montevideo. They currently play in the Campeonato Uruguayo Femenino. The club have won the league title three times consecutively in 2017, 2018 and 2019. History The women's section of Club Atlético Peñarol (founded in 1891) played in the 1970s in the first women's championships. In 1975 the women's competitions were discontinued. Club Atlético Cerro, usually known simply as Cerro, is a Uruguayan professional association football, football club based in Montevideo that currently plays in the Uruguayan Segunda División. Founded in 1922, the club plays its home games at Estadio Luis Tróccoli. Uruguay's second most important derby is played between Cerro and Rampla Juniors, called "Clásico de la Villa". It is only behind the Uruguayan Clásico between Peñarol and Club Nacional de Football, Nacional. History The club was founded on 1 December 1922. The Uruguayan Segunda División was founded in 1942, and Cerro was one of its founders.
