Cát Tiên National Park
Cát Tiên National Park ( vi, Vườn quốc gia Cát Tiên) is a national park located in the south of Vietnam, belonging to the area of 3 provinces Đồng Nai province, Đồng Nai, Bình Phước province, Bình Phước and Lâm Đồng province, Lâm Đồng. It is approximately 150 km north of Ho Chi Minh City. It has an area of about 720 km2 and protects one of the largest areas of lowland tropical forests left in Vietnam. History The surrounding area was originally occupied by the Ma people - especially in the area that is now Cat Loc (in the 1960s eastern Nam Cat Tien was described as "''inhabité'' - uninhabited") and Stieng people in western Dong Nai Province. Necrosciinae is a subfamily of the stick insect family Lonchodidae, with its greatest diversity in South-East Asia. The subfamilies Necrosciinae and Lonchodinae, formerly part of Diapheromeridae, were determined to make up a separate family and were transferred to the re-established family Lonchodidae in 2018. Seasonal Tropical Forest
Seasonal tropical forest, also known as moist deciduous, semi-evergreen seasonal, tropical mixed or monsoon forests, typically contain a range of tree species: only some of which drop some or all of their leaves during the dry season. This tropical forest is classified under the Walter system as (i) tropical climate with high overall rainfall (typically in the 1000–2500 mm range; 39–98 inches) and (ii) having a very distinct wet season with (an often cooler “winter”) dry season. These forests represent a range of habitats influenced by monsoon (Am) or tropical wet savannah (Aw) climates (as in the Köppen climate classification).
