Cal State San Marcos is an elevated railway station in San Marcos, California which opened in 2008. It is the only elevated station along the North County Transit District's SPRINTER light rail line. San Marcos ( ; Spanish for " St. Mark") is a city in the North County region of San Diego County, California. As of the 2020 census, the city's population was 94,833. It is the site of California State University San Marcos. The city is bordered by Escondido to the east, Encinitas to the southwest, Carlsbad to the west, and Vista to the northwest. Escondido Transit Center
Escondido Transit Center is a bus and train station located in Downtown Escondido, California. It serves as the current eastern terminus of the North County Transit District's SPRINTER light rail line and the northern terminus of the BREEZE Rapid bus rapid transit line. There are plans to extend the SPRINTER service to the Westfield North County mall in southern Escondido, north of Lake Hodges. A preview Sprinter service stopped at Escondido Transit Center on December 28, 2007, and regular service commenced March 9, 2008. The station is located just east of Interstate 15 (accessible from Valley Parkway exit) and south of State Route 78. Parking is available. Sprinter (stylized as SPRINTER) is a hybrid rail (light rail with some features similar to commuter rail) line operating in the North County area of San Diego County between the cities of Escondido and Oceanside, California, United States. California State Route 78
State Route 78 (SR 78) is a state highway in the U.S. state of California that runs from Oceanside east to Blythe, traversing nearly the entire width of the state. Its western terminus is at Interstate 5 (I-5) in San Diego County and its eastern terminus is at I-10 in Riverside County. The route is a freeway through the heavily populated cities of northern San Diego County and a two-lane highway running through the Cuyamaca Mountains to Julian. The Escondido Sub is a branch railway line between Oceanside, California and Escondido, California, in the North County region of San Diego County.
