Paula Ungureanu
Paula-Claudia Ungureanu (née Rădulescu; born 30 March 1980) is a Romanian handballer who plays for Rapid București. She retired from the Romania national team in 2016. Ungureanu successfully replaced Luminița Dinu after her retirement. Shortly after taking these positions she became known for a high percentage of saves in games and for managing difficult saves in key points of games. Paula Ungureanu ranked fourth on the Top Goalkeepers list of the 2009 World Women's Handball Championship with a 41% save rate. In the 2014 European Championship, she ranked second after Silje Solberg on the Top Goalkeepers list with a 40% save rate. Herbert Müller (handball Coach)
Herbert Müller (born 3 September 1962 in Timișoara) is a Romanian-German handball coach and former handball player. He is currently in charge of Thüringer HC of the German Bundesliga, and beside his club duties he also serves as the head coach of the Austria women's national handball team. Career He was born to ethnic Banat Swabians parents, Franz and Anna Müller in Timișoara, and started to play handball for the local team Poli Timișoara in 1976. Four years later he left the country with his family because of the hard times under the communist regime in Romania, and settled in Germany. He continued his playing career at TSG Augsburg, where he ended his career in 1988. He began coaching in 1984 at Augsburg, while he was still a player. In 1999 he took the hot seat of 1. She is considered a living legend of the Romanian and international handball, being voted top 5 women handball players of the 20th century. Dumitru Popescu-Colibași
Olimpiu-Dumitru Popescu-Colibași (16 March 1912 – 2 March 1993), nicknamed Tata Pik, was a Romanian handball manager, rugby union player and author of books on sports. He had pioneered handball in the city of Brașov. Popescu-Colibași graduated from the A.N.E.F. in 1937. He helped develop many leading handball players during decades: including Anna Stark, Maria Scheip, Mara Windt, Gerlinde Reip, Edeltraut Franz-Sauer, Iuliana Nako, and Rodica Floroianu. As a rugby player, he won the national championship with TCR. In 1934, Popescu-Colibași and the Romania national rugby team appeared against Italy. He was a starter. Other honours followed his death: he is the namesake of the multi-purpose, 1,700-seat Dumitru Popescu Colibași Sports Hall in Brașov.
