CMLL Super Viernes (May 2010)
In May 2010 the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) will hold a total of four CMLL Super Viernes shows, all of which will take place Arena México on Friday nights. CMLL will not hold any special events on Fridays that would force a cancellation such as a pay-per-view (PPV). Some of the matches from Super Viernes are taped for CMLL's weekly shows that air in Mexico the week following the Super Viernes show. Super Viernes often features storyline feud between two wrestlers or group of wrestlers that develop from week to week, often coming to a conclusion at a major CMLL event or in a match on Friday nights between the individuals. In total Super Viernes featured 24 matches with 81 wrestlers appearing in matches during April. This includes six women and eight ''Mini-Estrellas''. Professional Wrestling
Professional wrestling is a form of theater that revolves around staged wrestling matches. The mock combat is performed in a ring similar to the kind used in boxing, and the dramatic aspects of pro wrestling may be performed both in the ring or—as in televised wrestling shows—in backstage areas of the venue, in similar form to reality television. José Christian Alvarado Ruiz (born November 8, 1980) is a Mexican '' Luchador'' or professional wrestler, better known by Máximo (Spanish for "Maximus"). Maximo while working for the Mexican professional wrestling promotion Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) as Máximo Sexy until May 2017. Brazo De Plata
José Luis Alvarado Nieves (March 19, 1963 – July 26, 2021) was a Mexican luchador best known under the ring name Brazo de Plata, a name he had used since his debut in 1977. He is also well known for his appearances in WWE as Super Porky. Alvarado was a member of the Alvarado wrestling family which includes his father Shadito Cruz, five brothers who used the "Brazo" name at some point and several third-generation wrestlers who have appeared over the last couple of years. Powerbomb
A powerbomb is a professional wrestling throw in which an opponent is lifted (usually so that they are sitting on the wrestler's shoulders) and then slammed back-first down to the mat. The standard powerbomb sees an opponent first placed in a standing headscissors position (bent forward with their head placed between the attacking wrestler's thighs). Mephisto (born December 10, 1968) is the ring name of a Mexican ''luchador enmascarado'', or masked professional wrestler and currently works for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). His real name is not a matter of official record as he is an ''enmascarado'', which by ''lucha libre'' traditions means that his personal life is kept secret from the general public. Mephisto is the son of Luchador Astro Rey/Kahoz and has previously worked both as Astro Rey Jr. and Kahoz Jr. but has been most successful as Mephisto. Renato Ruíz Cortes (born May 9, 1977) is a Mexican professional wrestler better known by the ring name Averno (''Hell''). Ruíz initially worked for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) as Rencor Latino in 1995, but did not achieve any significant success until he adopted the ring name Averno in June 2001. Ramón Ibarra Rivera (born January 26, 1981), better known by his ring name Volador Jr., is a Mexican ''luchador'' (or professional wrestler), who works for Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL). Gran Alternativa (2010)
The ''Torneo Gran Alternativa'' (2010) was a professional wrestling annual tournament produced by Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) and took place over three shows between April 16 and April 30, 2010 in Arena México, Mexico City, Mexico. The '' Torneo Gran Alternativa'' ("Great Alternative tournament") is an annual tournament where an established CMLL veteran teams up with a ''Novato'' or rookie in a tag team tournament, although at times the ''Novato'' is not so much a rookie, but either a wrestler who has been given a new ring character or has never participated in the ''Gran Alternativa'' before. The format of the tournament was changed for the 2010 tournament, traditionally it featured 8 tag teams and a one night tournament, but in 2010 it featured 16 teams, split over three CMLL Super Viernes shows.
