David Rothbard
David Mark Rothbard (November 6, 1964 – March 30, 2018) was President of the Committee For A Constructive Tomorrow (CFACT), a US non-profit organization he founded with Craig Rucker in 1985 "to promote a positive voice on environment and development issues." Rothbard, also, co-hosted with CFACT Executive Director, Craig Rucker, a daily national radio commentary called "Just the Facts" that has been airing since 1993 on some 200 radio stations across the US. Marc Morano
Marc Morano (born 1968) is a former Republican political aide who founded and runs the website ClimateDepot.com. ClimateDepot is a project of the Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow (CFACT), a US non-profit organisation that promotes climate change denial. Career Morano was born in Washington, D.C. and raised in McLean, Virginia. He has a bachelor's degree from George Mason University in political science. He began his career working for Rush Limbaugh from 1992 to 1996. After 1996, he began working for Cybercast News Service (now CNSNews), where he was the first to publish the accusations from Swift-Boat veterans that John Kerry had allegedly exaggerated his military service record. Donors Trust is an American nonprofit donor-advised fund. It was founded in 1999 with the goal of "safeguarding the intent of libertarian and conservative donors". Scientific Opinion On Climate Change
There is a strong scientific consensus that the Earth is warming and that this warming is mainly caused by human activities. This consensus is supported by various studies of scientists' opinions and by position statements of scientific organizations, many of which explicitly agree with the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) synthesis reports. The Kyoto Protocol was an international treaty which extended the 1992 United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) that commits state parties to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, based on the scientific consensus that (part one) global warming is occurring and (part two) that human-made CO2 emissions are driving it. The Kyoto Protocol was adopted in Kyoto, Japan, on 11 December 1997 and entered into force on 16 February 2005. Arctic Refuge Drilling Controversy
The question of whether to drill for oil in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR) has been an ongoing political controversy in the United States since 1977. As of 2017, Republicans have attempted to allow drilling in ANWR almost fifty times, finally being successful with the passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017. ANWR comprises of the north Alaskan coast. The land is situated between the Beaufort Sea to the north, Brooks Range to the south, and Prudhoe Bay to the west.
