C. F. Thomas
Chennikkara Francis Thomas (30 July 1939 – 27 September 2020) was an Indian politician from Changanassery and member of the Kerala Legislative Assembly. He was Minister for Rural Development in the third A. K. Antony ministry and the subsequent first Oommen Chandy ministry. He was also the Chairman of the Kerala Congress and later became its Deputy Chairman. Before entering politics, he was a teacher at St. Berchmans Higher Secondary School in Changanassery from 1962 to 1980. Political career Thomas entered politics in 1956 as an activist of the Kerala Students Union, the student wing of the Indian National Congress. He joined the Kerala Congress in 1964 and was a founder member of the party. He was elected to the Kerala Legislative Assembly for 9 consecutive terms starting from 1980, representing Changanassery constituency. Thomas was a minister in the third A. K. Changanassery State assembly constituency is one of the 140 state legislative assembly constituencies at the state Kerala in southern India. It is also one of the 7 state legislative assembly constituencies included in the Mavelikara Lok Sabha constituency. C. F. Thomas represented the constituency for 40 consecutive years from 1980. First Oommen Chandy Ministry
Following is the list of 20 government ministers serving under Oommen Chandy, the Chief Minister of the Indian state of Kerala, from August 2004 through May 2006. Trivia Oommen Chandy was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Kerala on 31 August 2004 after the controversial resignation of A. K. Antony on 29 August. All ministers in the previous Antony government except K.M. Mani, P.K. Kunjalikkutty, K.R. Gowri Amma, M.V. Raghavan, Dr. M.K. Muneer, Babu Divakaran and C.F. Thomas were ousted. Kunjalikkutty resigned on 31 December 2004, after finding himself guilty in the notorious Ice Cream Parlour Scandal. He was succeeded by his colleague V.K. Ibrahim Kunju the next day (1 January 2005). K.P. Viswanathan, who handled the department of Forests, resigned on 9 February 2005 after a series of scandals, and A. ''The New Indian Express'' is an Indian English-language broadsheet daily newspaper published by the Chennai-based Express Publications. It was founded in 1932 as ''The Indian Express'', under the ownership of Chennai-based P. Varadarajulu Naidu. Kerala Congress (Mani)
Kerala Congress (M) is a state-level political party in the Indian state of Kerala, currently led by chairman Jose K. Mani. It was formed by K. M. Mani in 1979, after a split from the Kerala Congress. They are part of the Left Democratic Front since October 2020. Indian National Congress
