Brantly International Inc. is an American helicopter company with its engineering and administrative offices based Coppell, Texas, United States. Manufacturing of Brantly-designed helicopters is now carried out by Qingdao Haili Helicopters of China. History Brantly Helicopter The company started out 1945 as Brantly Helicopter Corporation in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, founded by Newby O. Brantly. Brantly was so impressed with the Sikorsky VS-300 that he decided to design his own helicopter. In 1946 his first helicopter, the Brantly B-1 with coaxial rotors made its first flight. The B-1 was not put into production. Using lessons learned from the B-1, he decided to build a two-seater with a simple rotor design. This helicopter, the Brantly B-2, made its first flight 1953. Brantly Womack
Brantly Womack is Professor Emeritus of Foreign Affairs at the University of Virginia, where he has held the Cumming professorial chair, and Senior Faculty Fellow at the Miller Center, where he has held the CK Yen professorial chair. Most of his work has been on Chinese national and international politics. Biography A native of Texas, Womack received his Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Chicago in 1977. He had previously received a M.A. from Chicago, and a B.A. from the University of Dallas in 1969. He was a Fulbright Scholar, at the University of Munich, 1969–1970. Robert Jacob Brantly (born July 14, 1989) is an American professional baseball catcher who is currently a free agent. The Detroit Tigers drafted Brantly in the third round of the 2010 Major League Baseball Draft. He made his Major League Baseball (MLB) debut in 2012 with the Miami Marlins and has also played in MLB for the Chicago White Sox, Philadelphia Phillies, and San Francisco Giants. Justin Jay Brantly (born March 28, 1986) is a former American football punter. He played for the Omaha Nighthawks of the United Football League. He was signed by the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent in 2009. He played college football at Texas A&M. Susan Brantly is an American scholar in Scandinavian literature and a professor at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. Career Susan Brantly received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in German and Scandinavian from Harvard University in 1980, her Master of Arts Degree in Scandinavian Literature from the University of Minnesota in 1983, and her Ph.D. in Germanic Languages and Literature from Yale University in 1987. That same year, she began working in the Scandinavian Studies Department at the University of Wisconsin, where she is currently a professor. Theodore Brantly
Theodore M. Brantley (or Brantly) (February 12, 1851 – September 16, 1922) was the longest-serving Chief Justice of the Montana Supreme Court, serving for 23 years (1899–1922). Biography Brantley was born near Lebanon, Tennessee. He came from a political family in Tennessee—two of his mother's brothers were elected governor of Tennessee (Neill S. Brown in 1847, John C. Brown in 1871). Brantley was educated at Southwestern Presbyterian University in Clarksville, Tennessee and the law school of Cumberland University in Lebanon, graduating in 1881. After practicing law for several years, Brantly became a professor of Ancient Languages, first at Illinois College and then at the College of Montana in Deer Lodge.
