To botch in professional wrestling means to fail in attempting a scripted move or spoken line by mistake, miscalculation, or an error in judgment. Many botches are harmless, such as a wrestler simply flubbing a line, missing a cue, or falling before his or her opponent's move actually connects. At times, however, a poorly timed or executed move has resulted in serious injury or even death. Causes A common cause of botches is inexperience. Jackie Gayda, winner of the '' Tough Enough 2'' competition, in one of her first televised matches (a tag team match with Christopher Nowinski against Trish Stratus and Bradshaw on the July 8, 2002 edition of ''Raw'' from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania), botched nearly every move that she tried or attempted to sell, the most infamous of which was a second-rope-bulldog by Stratus, which Gayda sold two seconds too late. Botch (band)
Botch is an American mathcore band formed in 1993 in Tacoma, Washington. The band, featuring Brian Cook, Dave Knudson, Tim Latona and Dave Verellen, spent four years as a garage band and released several demos and EPs before signing to Hydra Head Records. Through the label, Botch released two studio albums: '' American Nervoso'' (1998) and '' We Are the Romans'' (1999). The group toured extensively and internationally in support of their albums with like-minded bands such as The Blood Brothers, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Ink & Dagger and Jesuit. Botch struggled to write a third studio album, and in 2002 the group broke up due to tensions among the band members and creative differences. Hydra Head posthumously released an EP of songs the group had been working on before they split titled '' An Anthology of Dead Ends'' and a live album documenting their final show titled ''061502'' in 2006. ''Botched'' is a 2007 horror comedy film directed by Kit Ryan and starring Stephen Dorff. It is an international co-production between Australia, the UK, Germany, Ireland, and the US. Dorff plays a thief who, when he botches a robbery for his boss, is forced to steal an heirloom from a Russian penthouse. After he and two Russian accomplices (played by Jamie Foreman and Russell Smith) take several hostages, they realize the heirloom is guarded by a crazy serial killer, who begins killing off both criminals and hostages indiscriminately. ''Botched'' is an American reality television series that premiered on cable channel E! on June 24, 2014. It follows doctors Terry Dubrow and Paul Nassif as they "remedy extreme plastic surgeries gone wrong." Production ''Botched'' first season, consisting of eight episodes, ended on August 17, 2014. A two-part reunion special hosted by Maria Menounos aired on October 26 and 27, and featured interviews with Dubrow, Nassif, and patients from the series. On August 5, 2014, ''Botched'' was renewed for a second season, which premiered on April 14, 2015. On June 7, it moved from its Tuesday, 9 pm timeslot to Sunday, 9 pm. The mid-season finale aired on July 12. The series was renewed for a third season on July 1. Three specials, titled ''Botched: Post Op'', aired after the October 13, 20 and 27 episodes.
