Robert David Bennett
Robert David Bennett (12 September 1875 – 26 September 1932) was an Australian criminal and sex offender. He was convicted of the rape of a young girl in Western Australia in 1911 and, despite receiving a life sentence for the crime, he was released in June 1914 under controversial circumstances. Bennett and another criminal named Angus Murray committed a series of offences in New South Wales and Victoria, culminating in an armed bank robbery in suburban Melbourne in 1917, for which each were sentenced to fifteen years in prison. Soon after his release from prison Bennett was again convicted of the sexual assault of a young girl, a Capital punishment, capital offence for which he received a death sentence. He was executed at HM Prison Pentridge, Pentridge Prison in September 1932. Bennett was the first of eleven people to be hanged at Pentridge Prison after the closure of Melbourne Gaol in 1924, and the last person to be executed in Australia for a crime other than murder.Russel ... Robert Lee Rayford (February 3, 1953 – May 15 1969), sometimes identified as Robert R. due to his age, was an American teenager from Missouri who has been suggested to represent the earliest confirmed case of HIV/AIDS in North America based on evidence which was published in 1988 in which the authors claimed that medical evidence indicated that he was "infected with a virus closely related or identical to human immunodeficiency virus type 1." Rayford died of pneumonia, but his other symptoms baffled the doctors who treated him. A study published in 1988 reported the detection of antibodies against HIV. Results of testing for HIV genetic material were reported once at a scientific conference in Australia in 1999; however, the data has never been published in a peer-reviewed medical or scientific journal. Bob Bennett is a former rugby league footballer and coach who played professionally for the Past Brothers, Brisbane and Collegians and The Cowboys, Warwick sides and also coached Lae 'Bombers' in 1995 as well as Papua New Guinea at the 2000 World Cup. His brother, Wayne, has coached Australia and Queensland as well as several National Rugby League clubs.
