Bidhan Chandra Roy
Bidhan Chandra Roy (1 July 1882 – 1 July 1962) was an Indian physician, educationist, and statesman who served as Chief Minister of West Bengal from 1948 until his death in 1962. Roy played a key role in the founding of several institutions and the cities Bidhannagar and Kalyani. In India, the National Doctors' Day is celebrated in his memory every year on the 1st of July. He was awarded the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian honour in 1961. Early life and education Bidhan Chandra Roy was born on 1 July 1882 to a Bengali Kayastha family in Bankipore in Patna, where his father, Prakash Chandra Roy, was serving as an excise inspector. His mother, Aghorkamini Devi, was religious and a devoted social worker. Bidhan was the youngest of five siblings – he had 2 sisters, Susharbashini and Sarojini, and 2 brothers, Subodh and Sadhan. Bidhan Lama
Bidhan Lama (विधान लामा) is a Nepalese taekwondo practitioner who competed in the −50 kg division. He won the first Medal at Asian Game from Nepal. He won bronze medals at the 1986 Asian Games, 1987 World Taekwondo Championships and at the 1988 Summer Olympics, where taekwondo was then an exhibition event. He is the only sports person from Nepal to win an Olympic medal. Bidhan Lama is the most successful and historical medal winning athlete of Nepali sports. Lama defeated the U.K. Ebenezer Ghansah (GBR) in the first fight in the 1988 Summer Olympics, defeated the Germans Choi Chan-ok (FRG) in the quarter-final and defeated the Americans Juan Moreno (USA) in the Semi-final to give Nepal the bronze medal. Kalyan Bidhan Sinha
Kalyan Bidhan Sinha (K.B. Sinha) (born 3 June 1944) is an Indian mathematician. He is a professor at the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research, and Professor Emeritus for life of the Indian Statistical Institute. Sinha is the author of numerous scientific works in scattering theory, spectral theory of Schrödinger operators, quantum stochastic calculus, noncommutative geometry, and, more broadly, in mathematical physics. Education and career Kalyan Bidhan Sinha graduated from Hindu School, Calcutta in 1960. He studied Physics at Presidency College, Calcutta, obtaining his Bachelor's degree from the University of Calcutta in 1963, and then studied at the University of Delhi where he was awarded a Master's degree in 1965. Bidhan Sarani (formerly known as Cornwallis Street) is a principal north–south thoroughfare in north part of Kolkata, the capital of the Indian state of West Bengal. It was named after the first Chief Minister of West Bengal, Bidhan Chandra Roy.
