Beeliar Regional Park
Beeliar Regional Park is a conservation park approximately south of the central business district in Perth, Western Australia, located within the Citys of Cockburn, Kwinana and Melville. The regional park is named after the indigenous Beeliar people of the area. In Western Australia, regional parks consist of areas of land that have been identified as having outstanding conservation, landscape and recreation values. The park contains remnants of the Beeliar Wetlands, part of the once widespread Swan Coastal Plain. Beeliar is one of eleven regional parks in the Perth region of Western Australia. The purpose of these regional parks is to serve as urban havens to preserve and restore cultural heritage and valuable ecosystems as well as to encourage sustainable nature-based recreation activities. Blue is one of the three primary colours in the RYB colour model (traditional colour theory), as well as in the RGB (additive) colour model. It lies between violet and cyan on the spectrum of visible light. The eye perceives blue when observing light with a dominant wavelength between approximately 450 and 495 nanometres. Most blues contain a slight mixture of other colours; azure contains some green, while ultramarine contains some violet. Henderson is a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, located within the City of Cockburn. History The suburb of Henderson comprises land resumed by the Commonwealth Government in 1915 for defence purposes. A large naval base was planned by Admiral Sir Reginald Henderson, and the area was sometimes referred to as "Henderson Naval Base". The name was approved for the suburb in 1973. In 2019, the City of Cockburn approved a split of the neighbouring suburb Munster, whereby the north-western part of the suburb would become the new suburb of Lake Coogee while another part, in the south-west, would be added to Henderson. Clarence, Western Australia
Clarence, also known as Clarence Town and Peel Town, was an early European settlement on the coast of Western Australia. It was planned by Thomas Peel, with help from various other colonial backers. The first ship of settlers landed in December 1829, and the settlement was abandoned by the early 1830s. Items 143-144 of No firm evidence exists for its exact location. It was thought to be sited in the vicinity of Woodman Point, though recent archaeological discoveries have also found evidence of settlement further south, near Mount Brown in the Beeliar Regional Park. The Murray River is a river in the southwest of Western Australia. It played a significant part in the expansion of settlement in the area south of Perth after the arrival of British settlers at the Swan River Colony in 1829. The river is one of the few major rivers close to Perth which is devoid of dams for public water supply. It includes a catchment area including a large part of the wheatbelt and southwest of the state, draining from per annum average rainfall country in the east near Pingelly, westward through the high rainfall parts of the Darling Range around Dwellingup with an average rainfall of per annum.
