Barys Hrynkevich ( be, Барыс Грынкевіч; born April 26, 1981 in Grodno) is a retired amateur Belarusian freestyle wrestler, who competed in the men's super heavyweight category. He finished seventh in the 120-kg division at the 2003 World Wrestling Championships in New York City, New York, United States, and later represented his nation Belarus at the 2004 Summer Olympics. Hrynkevich also trained as a member of the freestyle wrestling team for RTsFVS Hrodna, under his personal coach Aleh Harbuz. Hrynkevich qualified for the Belarusian squad in the men's super heavyweight class (120 kg) at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, by placing seventh and receiving a berth from the World Championships a year earlier. Boris Uladzimiravich Kit ( be, Бары́с Уладзіміравіч Кіт, russian: Бори́с Влади́мирович Кит; April 6, 1910 – February 1, 2018) was a Belarusian-American rocket scientist. Biography Kit was born on April 6, 1910 in Saint Petersburg, Russian Empire to the family of an employee at the Post and Telegraph Department of Belarusian origin. His true surname is Kita. In 1918 Kit's family moved to their native village of Aharodniki, now the town of Karelichy, Hrodna Voblast. In 1921 this area became a part of the Second Polish Republic. After graduation from the Navahrudak Belarusian Lyceum in 1928, Kit entered the physics and mathematics faculty of Vilnius University. Barys Tasman ( be, Барыс Тасман) (13 November 1954 – 25 June 2022), was a Belarusian journalist, sports reporter and sports analyst. Tasman was born in a Jewish family in Minsk. He graduated from the Belarusian State University with a major in geography in 1980. He worked as a loader, worker at a road equipment plant, and assistant at a geodetic laboratory. From 1981 to 1994, he pursued a career as a geography teacher in several Minsk secondary schools. Hockey Club Barys ( kk, Барыс хоккей клубы , translit=Barys Hokkei Kluby), also referred to as Barys Astana or HC Barys, is a professional ice hockey team based in Astana, Kazakhstan.
