Azerbaijan–Syria Relations
Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Syrian Arab Republic were established on 28 March 1992. Syria is accredited to Azerbaijan from its embassy in Tehran, Iran. Diplomatic relations On 9 July 2009, the first official visit of the President of the Syrian Arab Republic — Bashar al-Assad to Azerbaijan took place. The parties agreed to supply 1-1. 5 billion cubic meters of Azerbaijani gas to Syria. A joint Azerbaijani-Syrian business forum was held during the visit. The Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) is a forum of 120 countries that are not formally aligned with or against any major power bloc. Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict
The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is an ethnic and territorial conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan over the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh, inhabited mostly by ethnic Armenians, and seven surrounding districts, inhabited mostly by Azerbaijanis until their expulsion during the First Nagorno-Karabakh War. Natiq Aghaami oglu Aliyev ( az, Natiq Ağaəmi oğlu Əliyev; November 23, 1947 – June 9, 2017) was an Azerbaijani politician. He served as the president of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic and was the Minister of Industry and Energy of Azerbaijan Republic at the time of his death.
