Notability is the property of being worthy of notice, having fame, or being considered to be of a high degree of interest, significance, or distinction. It also refers to the capacity to be such. Aghasadyg Garaybeyli
Aghasadyg Aghaali oglu Garaybeyli ( az, Ağasadıq Gəraybəyli) (15 March 1897, Shamakhi – 5 December 1988, Baku) was a Soviet and Azerbaijani actor. Life and contributions Garaybeyli was born in the city of Shamakhi, but like many natives of that city at the time, he found himself in Baku after the devastating earthquake of 1902. Garaybeyli became an orphan at a young age and was brought up by a foster family. While still in school, he started attending drama clubs for actors-to-be established by Huseyn Arablinski. He made his first stage appearance in 1917. Beginning in 1921, with the help of Uzeyir Hajibeyov, he started attending courses in professional acting. It was also when Garaybeyli got married. In the following years, he acted in over 200 different roles, including both stage and film appearances. Garaybeyli was also known as a voice actor in a number of movies. Abbas Mirza Sharifzadeh
Abbas Mirza Mirza Abdulrasul oghlu Sharifzadeh ( az, Abbas Mirzə Mirzə Əbdülrəsul oğlu Şərifzadə) (22 March 1893, Shamakhi – 16 November 1938, Baku) was a Soviet Azerbaijan actor of opera, theatre, and silent film; a film director; and a film editor. He was awarded the title Honored Artist of the Azerbaijan SSR (1935). Early life and theatre career Abbas Mirza Sharifzadeh was born into a family of a teacher, who taught at Seyid Azim Shirvani's ''Usul-i Jadid'' school. After the 1902 Shamakhi earthquake, the family moved to Baku, where Sharifzadeh became a member of a drama club at his school. In 1908, he started acting in serious plays, including '' The Imaginary Invalid''. He was part of the theatre troop of the Gadzhibekov family (which included Uzeyir Hajibeyov). Barat Shakinskaya
Barat Habib gizi Shakinskaya ( az, Barat Həbib qızı Şəkinskaya; 28 June 1914 – 14 January 1999) was an Azerbaijani and Soviet stage and film actress. Biography Barat Shakinskaya was born into a bey family in Shusha, Russian Empire (now Azerbaijan). Her mother Aghja (née Hajiyeva) was the niece of Azerbaijani writer and dramatist Abdurrahim bey Hagverdiyev. Her father hailed from the khans of Karabakh on his mother's side and from the khans of Shaki on his father's side. The name Barat means 'God-given', a name chosen by her grandmother Govhar, as Barat was the first surviving child in the family following three her still-born siblings. Huseyngulu Sarabski
Huseyngulu Sarabski ( az, Hüseynqulu Sarabski), born Hüseynqulu Malik oğlu Rzayev (20 March 1879 – 16 February 1945), was an Azerbaijani opera singer (tenor), composer, playwright, stage actor, theatre director, and musician (tar). Early life Sarabski was born to poor parents in Baku (then part of the Russian Empire, now capital of Azerbaijan) on Nowruz Eve. At a young age, he was sent to a mullah to study the Koran. Unable to overcome the language barrier and having received severe beatings from the mullah, Huseyngulu managed to convince his parents to let him quit. In 1891, at the age 12, he watched a theatrical performance for the first time. It was staged by amateur actors and called ''Khan Sarabi'' adapted from Mirza Fatali Akhundov's play ''Sarguzasht-i vazir-i Khan-i Lankaran''. Latif Safarov
Latif Bashir oglu Safarov ( az, Lətif Səfərov) (30 September 1920, Shusha – 9 December 1963, Baku) was an Azerbaijani actor and movie director. Safarov began his career in acting at a very young age. He starred in a number of children's movies released in 1927–1931 (''Sevil'', ''Latif'', etc.). In 1939, he graduated from the Ganja School of Pedagogy. For the next two years was continued acting along as serving as an assistant director at the Baku Movie Studio (renamed to ''Azerbaijanfilm'' in 1960). In 1950, he graduated from the Gerasimov Institute of Cinematography, receiving B.A. in Film Directing. The 1955 film '' Bakhtiyar'' (starring Rashid Behbudov) directed by Safarov was his most significant project. Hagigat Ali qizi Rzayeva ( az, Həqiqət Rzayeva) (20 May 1907, Lankaran – 2 August 1969, Baku) was a Soviet Azerbaijani actress and singer of folk, opera, and pop music. Career Hagigat Rzayeva was born on 20 May 1907 in a small village near Lankaran, Russian Empire (present-day southeastern Azerbaijan). Her father died of pneumonia when she was eighteen months old. Ulvi Rajab
Ulvi Rajab ( az, Ülvi Rəcəb; 1903, Janivri, near Batumi – 2 January 1938, Baku) was an Azerbaijani stage actor. Life and career He was born Ulvi Shashygzade ( ka, ულვი შაშიკაძე) in the village of Janivri (presently in Adjara, Georgia) to a Muslim Georgian family. His stage name Rajab derived from his father's first name. He lost his father at an early age. He received primary education in Istanbul where he went with his aunt, but dropped out following the beginning of World War I and began making a living. In 1918, he returned to Batumi where he attended the play ''Othello'' staged by an Azerbaijani theatre troupe led by Huseyn Arablinski at the local Actors' Society. He decided to join the troupe but appeared in minor roles until 1922, when he replaced an absent actor as Soltan bey in '' The Cloth Peddler'' and was recognized for his talent. Hamida Omarova
Hamida Mammad qizi Omarova ( az, Həmidə Ömərova, born 25 April 1957 in Baku) is an Azerbaijani actress. Early life Hamida Omarova was born to a family of teachers, Mammad and Nasiba Omarov. Her parents met at university where both of them studied foreign languages, and went on to have four children, three of whom died in their infancy. When Hamida was born, her parents visited the Sufi Hamid shrine in Qazakh and after being sure the newborn would survive, they named her after the sanctuary. Following her parents' divorce in 1960 and her father's permanent departure to his native Gazakh, Hamida Omarova was raised by her mother and grandmother. After graduating from high school she enrolled at Baku State University to study philology. Elchin Musaoglu uliyev'' ( az, Elçin Musaoğlu uliyev}; born 11 July 1966, in Baku, Azerbaijan) is an Azerbaijani filmmaker best known for his award-winning movie ''The 40th Door'' and Oscar contender ''Nabat''. Musaoglu is a member of the Union of the Azerbaijan Cinematographers and the Union of Turkish Documentary Cinematographers, and a founder of the Society for Support of the Development of Documentary Films and Authorial Programs.
