The Hebraization of surnames (also Hebraicization) ( he, עברות, ''Ivrut'', "Hebraization") is the act of adopting a Hebrew surname in exchange for a diaspora name. The Ayalon Valley ( he, or , ''ʾAyyālōn'') is a valley in the lowland of the Shephelah in the States of Palestine and Israel, identified in the 19th century as Yalo at the foot of the Bethoron pass, a Palestinian Arab village located southeast of Ramla in the West Bank but destroyed in 1967. Ayalon Prison
Ayalon Prison (), formerly known as Ramla Prison, is a maximum-security prison located in Ramla, Israel. It is managed by the Israel Prison Service. The prison was opened in 1950, and was built in the style of the Tegart forts from the British Mandate era. It is one of four high-security criminal prisons operated by the Israel Prison Service. Ayalon Prison has 625 cells divided into 15 wings, including an isolation wing for prisoners in solitary confinement. It has an educational center with six classrooms for primary education and classes for English, computers and art. The prison also has facilities for meditation, sports, parenting, drug rehabilitation in addition to eight factories which employ inmates and a radio station operated by inmates selected and trained to broadcast rehabilitative and educational content to all other prisons in Israel. Ayalon Cave
The Ayyalon Cave ( he, מערת איילון) is a large limestone cave near Ramla, Israel in which new species of crustaceans were discovered in April 2006. It has been studied for its complex food web, which survived for millions of years without light or organic food coming in from the surface, being based solely on a type of bacterium which feeds on sulfur which serves as the only organic matter available for the next higher level of organisms to feed on. The cave has offered an ecological refuge for species whose relatives living at the surface have been wiped out by climatic changes and catastrophic events over millions of years, and offers a unique sample for the study of long-term ecological changes in the area. The Ayalon River ( he, נחל איילון, ''Nahal Ayalon''; Nahr el-Barideh or Wadi Musrara in Arabic) is a perennial stream in Israel, originating in the Judean Hills and discharging into the Yarkon River in the area of Tel Aviv. Machon Ayalon
The Ayalon Institute ( he, מכון איילון, Makhon Ayalon) was an underground ammunition factory, located on Kibbutz Hill in Rehovot, Israel, disguised as a kibbutz that ran a laundry service. The factory was established in 1945 and manufactured ammunition until 1948; today it is a museum and national historical site. It was “secretly created in less than a month, 8 meters (25 feet) underground and was run by the Haganah". Ami Ayalon
Ami Ayalon ( he, עמיחי "עמי" איילון, born 27 June 1945) is an Israeli politician and a former member of the Knesset for the Labor Party. He was previously head of the Shin Bet, Israel's secret service, and commander-in-chief of the Navy. He came in second to Ehud Barak in a Labor party leadership election in June 2007, and was appointed a Minister without Portfolio in September 2007. Daniel "Danny" Ayalon ( he, דניאל "דני" אילון; born ) is an Israeli diplomat, columnist and politician. He served as Deputy Foreign Minister and as a member of the Knesset. He was the Israeli Ambassador to the United States from 2002 until 2006. Previously, he worked as senior foreign policy advisor to Prime Ministers Ariel Sharon, Ehud Barak, and Benjamin Netanyahu.
