This is a list of seasons completed by the Austin Wranglers. The Wranglers were a professional arena football franchise of arenafootball2 (AF2), based in Austin, Texas. The team was established in 2004 as a member of the Arena Football League (AFL). The Wranglers made the playoffs twice, once while in the AFL, and once in what would be their only AF2 season. However, the team did not win a playoff game in either year. Prior to the 2009 season, the Wranglers announced that they would cease operations. The team played its home games at Frank Erwin Center. The Austin Wranglers were an arena football team based in Austin, Texas. They played four seasons in the Arena Football League from 2004 to 2007 and spent one season in af2, the AFL's developmental league, in 2008. They made playoff appearances in the AFL in 2006 and in af2 in 2008. They played their home games at the Frank Erwin Center at the University of Texas at Austin. Southern Division (AFL)
The American Conference - South Division was a division of the Arena Football League's American Conference. The Southern Division was formed in 1992 when the AFL first split into three divisions. The League used only conferences in 1993 and 1994, but returned to division play in 1995. The Southern Division has produced 10 ArenaBowl teams and 5 champions, with the most recent during the 2011 Arena Football League season by the Sharks. Rivalries such as the Tampa Bay Storm and Orlando Predators, known as the " War on I-4," used to define this division, but the Georgia Force had risen to the top and dominated in recent years before their folding. Spokane Shock
The Spokane Shock were a professional indoor American football team based in Spokane, Washington, that played their home games at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena. The team was initially a member of arenafootball2 (af2), the Shock won division titles in all four seasons and ArenaCups in 2006 and 2009 before they joined the Arena Football League (AFL) in its 2010 relaunch. The team advanced to the playoffs three times after joining the AFL, winning ArenaBowl XXIII in their first season, making them the only arena football franchise to win both the ArenaCup and the ArenaBowl. 2007 Arena Football League Season
The 2007 Arena Football League season was the 21st season of the Arena Football League. The regular season began play on March 1, 2007 and concluded on June 25. The league broke its regular-season total attendance record of 1,887,054. Following a year-long hiatus last year in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the New Orleans VooDoo franchise resumed play this season to return the league to a 19-team format. New Orleans also hosted ArenaBowl XXI. This was the last of three non-consecutive AFL seasons in which the league fielded 19 teams, the most in AFL history. The 2006 Arena Football League season was the 20th season of the Arena Football League. The league champions were the Chicago Rush, who defeated the Orlando Predators in ArenaBowl XX. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, the New Orleans VooDoo franchise suspended operations before the start of the season. However, the league added two teams, the Kansas City Brigade and the Utah Blaze, expanding to 18 teams. The AFL also expanded its playoff format to 12 teams with six teams per conference. The 2005 Arena Football League season was the 19th season of the Arena Football League. The league champions were the Colorado Crush, who defeated the Georgia Force in ArenaBowl XIX. The AFL changed its playoff format to allow the top four teams per conference to make the playoffs. Previously, the top eight teams in the league make the playoffs, regardless of their conference. Also, there was no inter-conference play in the playoffs until the Arena Bowl starting in 2005. The division champions also received an automatic playoff berth. This was probably brought on by the fact that the year before the Eastern Division champion New York Dragons missed the playoffs. The league champions were the San Jose SaberCats, who defeated the Arizona Rattlers in ArenaBowl XVIII. The AFL reduced its playoff teams from the top 12 teams in the league making the playoffs to the top eight teams in the league making the playoffs.
