, formerly is a Japanese film production and distribution company. In the past, the company has distributed video games. It was formed in 1997 through a merger between the Asmik Corporation and Ace Entertainment, both of Japan. The name Asmik comes from its three founding companies: Ask (formerly ASK-Kodansha), Sumitomo and Kodansha. The company is headquartered on the third floor of the Lapiross Roppongi building in Minato, Tokyo, and is a wholly owned division of Jupiter Telecommunications (J:COM). Asmik Corporation was founded in 1985 as a subsidiary to the Sumitomo Corporation of Japan. Its focus was in the area of video games for the video game console market, specifically the NES. It quickly moved on to distribute motion pictures in Japan, and won several awards for doing so. It once had a North American subsidiary, Asmik Corporation of America. Asmik Grigorian (born 12 May 1981 in Vilnius) is a Lithuanian operatic soprano. Life and career In 1999, Asmik Grigorian graduated from National M. K. Čiurlionis School of Art in Vilnius. She studied music at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre and graduated from it with a master's degree in 2006. Grigorian made her operatic debut in Christiansand (Norway) in 2004 as Donna Anna directed by Jonathan Miller, in 2005 she made her Lithuanian debut as Violetta also directed by Jonathan Miller, and in 2006 she became one of the founding members of Vilnius City Opera, singing in ''La bohème'' (Mimi and Musetta)'', Pagliacci'' (Nedda)'', Il trovatore, Manon Lescaut, Pique Dame, Eugene Onegin, Sweeney Todd,'' and ''Werther''. Hasmik "Asmik" Shiroyan ( hy, Հասմիկ Շիրոյան, uk, Асмік Широян, russian: Асмик Широян; born 20 April 1993) is an Armenian-Ukrainian singer and songwriter. She is best known for competing in season four of ''The Voice of Ukraine'', '' Depi Evratesil 2017'', and '' Depi Evratesil 2018''. Life and career Early life Shiroyan was born on 20 April 1993 in Yerevan, Armenia. When she was three years old, the family left Armenia and settled in Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine. In Ukraine, she continued to study the Armenian language. Shiroyan began studying piano at age five, and began singing at age 13. From 2008 to 2010, she studied at the Dnipropetrovsk Medical Lyceum.
