Asian Men's Volleyball Challenge Cup
The Asian Men's Volleyball Challenge Cup, also known as the AVC Challenge Cup for Men, is an international volleyball competition in Asia and Oceania contested by the senior men's national teams of the members of Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC), the sport's continent governing body. This event should not be confused with the other, more prestigious continental competition for Asian national volleyball teams, the Asian Volleyball Championship and Asian Volleyball Cup. The three Asian Volleyball Challenge Cup tournaments has been won by three different national teams. Iraq, Kyrgyzstan and Thailand have won one time. History Originally, the tournament was awarded every two years beginning 2018. The champions were Iraq in 2018 edition and Kyrgyzstan in 2022 edition. Both teams defeated Saudi Arabia in tie-break final. From the 2023 edition, the AVC Challenge Cup has reformed from being held biennially to annually. 2018 Asian Men's Volleyball Challenge Cup
The 2018 Asian Men's Volleyball Challenge Cup was the inaugural edition of the Asian Challenge Cup, a biennial international volleyball tournament organised by the Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) with Sri Lanka Volleyball Federation (SLVF). The tournament was held in Colombo, Sri Lanka from 15 to 21 September 2018. Qualification The 8 AVC member associations qualified for the 2018 Asian Men's Challenge Cup. Sri Lanka qualified as hosts and the 3 teams were qualified from the 2017 Asian Men's Volleyball Championship while the 4 teams are new entry. The 8 AVC members associations were from 4 zonal associations, including, Central Asia (2 teams), East Asia (2 team), Southeast Asia (1 team), and Western Asia (3 teams). Hwang Taek-eui (Hangul: 황택의; born in Seoul) is a South Korean male volleyball player. He is part of the South Korea men's national volleyball team. On club level he plays for the Uijeongbu KB Insurance Stars.
