As Friends Rust
As Friends Rust is an American melodic hardcore band based in Gainesville, Florida. The original line-up, which included vocalist Damien Moyal, guitarist Henry Olmino, bass guitarist Jeronimo Gomez and drummer Matthew Crum, formed in Davie, Florida in September 1996. After recording a demo tape but failing to secure a record deal, the band parted ways in February 1997. Following his move to Gainesville, Florida, Moyal reformed As Friends Rust in June 1997 with a new line-up (made-up mostly of then-members of his other band Culture), ultimately stabilizing the band with drummer Timothy Kirkpatrick, guitarists Gordon Tarpley and Joseph Simmons and bass guitarist and backing vocalist Kaleb Stewart. The band released its debut EP '' The Fists of Time'' via Good Life Recordings in 1998, prior to which Tarpley was replaced by Peter Bartsocas. After an American tour, Bartsocas was replaced by James Glayat and As Friends Rust released a split with Discount, also on Good Life in 1998, ...

Kaleb Stewart
Kaleb Stewart (June 9, 1975 – March 25, 2021) was an American musician, vocalist, songwriter and former skateboarder. Originally from Talkeetna, Alaska, he moved around in his childhood before settling in Tampa, Florida as a teenager, and later made his home in Gainesville, Florida. While in Gainesville, he notably played bass guitar and provided backing vocals in the melodic hardcore band As Friends Rust from 1998 to 2000, and in the hardcore punk band Bridgeburne R from 1999 to 2000 (both with lead vocalist Damien Moyal). Stewart took part of As Friends Rust's reunion in 2008 and remained with the band until 2019. Prior to joining As Friends Rust, Stewart had a short-lived skateboarding career and sang in the post-punk band The Sarx and the punk rock band Southpaw, both based in Tampa, and played bass guitar in the Gainesville punk rock band Sissy. Joseph Simmons (guitarist)
Joseph Lee Simmons (born June 18, 1978) is an American guitarist, bass guitarist, songwriter and brewer. Originally from Houston, Texas, Simmons grew up in Coral Springs, Florida, where he notably played in the hardcore punk bands Dinner Time and Lock Down, the sludge metal band Bird of Ill Omen and the metallic hardcore band Morning Again. He later moved to Gainesville, Florida, where he played in the metallic hardcore bands Culture and Some Sort of Radio, the melodic hardcore band As Friends Rust, and the emotional hardcore / post-hardcore band Salem. He currently plays in the black metal band Rot in Coffins. Timothy Kirkpatrick
Timothy James Kirkpatrick (born June 11, 1978) is an American drummer. Originally from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, Kirkpatrick played in punk band Shaft and emotional hardcore bands Roosevelt and Burgundy in his teens. After moving to Gainesville, Florida in 1997, he joined metallic hardcore band Culture and melodic hardcore band As Friends Rust, both with vocalist Damien Moyal. Kirkpatrick next played in acoustic/indie rock musician Keith Welsh's live backing band, Tiger Mouth, art rock band Argentina, post-rock band Ithaca, and indie/post-rock band Swayze, all also based in Gainesville. He moved to St. Augustine, Florida in 2003 to join alternative rock/post-hardcore band Postcard Audio, which quickly changed name to Moments in Grace a month after his arrival. ''Greatest Hits?'' is a compilation album by American melodic hardcore band As Friends Rust. It was originally released on compact disc by Japanese record label Cosmic Note on June 4, 2014. Indonesian record label D'Kolektif released the compilation on compact cassette on December 27, 2014. Dutch record label Shield Recordings re-issued the compact disc and issued a 12" vinyl edition for the European market on April 29, 2015, though this version omitted three songs due to vinyl time constraints. The release compiles a selection of As Friends Rust recordings, hand-picked by vocalist Damien Moyal, from each of the band's main releases, spanning from the demo tape in 1996 to the initial break-up in 2002. ''Won'' is the first full-length album by American melodic hardcore band As Friends Rust. It was released on compact disc and 12" vinyl by American record label Doghouse Records on October 23, 2001. German record label Defiance Records licensed the rights to release the album on compact disc and 12" vinyl for the European market, though this edition was released a week earlier than the American one, on October 15, 2001. Japanese record label Howling Bull Entertainment also licensed the rights to release the album for the Asian market; this compact disc edition was released even earlier, on October 5, 2001, and includes two bonus tracks. ''As Friends Rust'' is the third release by American melodic hardcore band As Friends Rust. It was released on compact disc, 8" vinyl and digitally in the United States on September 17, 1999. The eponymous extended play was the band's first output as part of an exclusive three-record contract with Toledo, Ohio-based record company Doghouse Records. ''As Friends Rust'' was licensed by Doghouse Records to various foreign markets, beginning with Belgian record label Good Life Recordings, which released the extended play on compact disc and double 7" vinyl several months earlier in July 1999. The European edition features a bonus song and a different artwork, but was erroneously promoted by Good Life Recordings as ''God Hour'', though that title never appeared on the actual release. ''As Friends Rust / Discount'' is a split extended play by Gainesville, Florida-based melodic hardcore band As Friends Rust and Vero Beach, Florida-based punk rock band Discount. It was released by Belgian record label Good Life Recordings in December 1998 on compact disc and 7" vinyl. In promotion of the release, As Friends Rust and Discount embarked on a six-week European and United Kingdom tour, from December 1998 to January 1999, accompanied by Swedish hardcore group Purusam. The European tour included a stop to play at the Good Life Winter Festival, in Kortrijk, Belgium. Both Discount songs from the split, "Portrait of a Cigarette" and "History Is History", were recorded during the same session and feature vocalist Alison Mosshart, guitarist Ryan Seagrist, bass guitarist James Parker and drummer Bill Nesper.
