Amberg-Sulzbach
Amberg-Sulzbach ( bar, label=Northern Bavarian, Amberg-Suizboch) is a ''Landkreis'' (district) in Bavaria, Germany. It surrounds but does not include the city of Amberg. It is bounded by (from the north and clockwise) the districts of Neustadt an der Waldnaab, Schwandorf, Neumarkt, Nürnberger Land and Bayreuth. History The history is linked with the history of the Upper Palatinate and the city of Amberg. The district was established in 1972 by merging the former district of Amberg and the district-free city of Sulzbach-Rosenberg (the latter one lost its status as a district-free city in this administrative reform). Geography The district is located in the geographical centre of Bavaria, 40 km east of Nuremberg. The main axis of the region is the Vils River (an affluent of the Naab) crossing the district from north to south. Hahnbach
Hahnbach is a municipality in the district of Amberg-Sulzbach in Bavaria in Germany. There are living at the moment about 5000 people. The most important districts are: Fronbergsiedlung, Friedhofsiedlung, Süd 3, Markt. About 2000 of the 5000 people are not living in Hahnbach by itself, they are living in villages like Dürnsricht or Iber, which are in the area of Hahnbach. SSince 2014, the Mayor of Hahnbach is Bernhard Lindner (CSU). The CSU is the most popular party in Hahnbach, at the last election they got more than 75% of the votes, at place two was the SPD with at least 20% of the votes. Etzelwang is a municipality in the district of Amberg-Sulzbach in Bavaria in Germany. History Etzelwang has existed as a parish since the second half of the 11th century. However, the present municipality of Etzelwang was not created until the Bavarian administrative reforms of 1972 to 1975. It was created from the political units of Neidstein, Kirchenreinbach, and Schmidtstadt. Name ''Etzel'' comes from the same root as ''Heinrich'' or English ''Henry''. Sulzbach-Rosenberg ( bar, label=Northern Bavarian, Suizboch-Rosnberg) is a municipality in the Amberg-Sulzbach district, in Bavaria, Germany. It is situated approximately 14 km northwest of Amberg, and 50 km east of Nuremberg. The town consists of two parts: Sulzbach in the west, and Rosenberg in the east. Archeological evidence tells that Sulzbach was an important centre from the 8th century on. Sulzbach castle was founded during the early 8th century, probably by the late-Merovingian/early-Carolingian kingdom.
