Alipurduar Railway Division
Alipurduar railway division is one of the five railway divisions under Northeast Frontier Railway zone of Indian Railways. This railway division was formed on 15 January 1958 and its headquarter is located at Alipurduar in the state of West Bengal of India. Katihar railway division, Lumding railway division, Tinsukia railway division and Rangiya railway division are the other four railway divisions under NFR Zone headquartered at Maligaon, Guwahati. Cooch Behar railway station (also referred to as Old Cooch Behar railway station) serves Cooch Behar in Cooch Behar district in the Indian state of West Bengal. History Cooch Behar State Railway built a -wide narrow-gauge railway from the southern bank of the Torsa opposite Cooch Behar town to Gitaldaha, a station on the tracks of Eastern Bengal Railway in 1894.
