Al Ansar Football Club ( ar, نادي الأنصار الرياضي, lit=The Supporters Sporting Club) is a football club based in Tariq El Jdideh, a district in Beirut, Lebanon, that competes in the . Formed in 1951, the club did not win its first Lebanese Premier League until 1988. They went on to set a world record by winning the league 11 seasons in a row. Ansar is the most successful club in the country, having won the Lebanese Premier League 14 times and the Lebanese FA Cup 15 times, both domestic records. They have also won the Lebanese Federation Cup twice, the Lebanese Elite Cup twice and the Lebanese Super Cup six times. Ansar's major rivalry is with Nejmeh; dubbed the Beirut derby, it is the most anticipated game in Lebanon. Lebanese Second Division
The Lebanese Second Division ( ar, الدوري اللبناني الدرجة الثانية) is the second division of Lebanese football. Established in 1933, it is controlled by the Lebanese Football Association. The 12 teams that participate in the league play each other twice, once at home and once away, with the champions and the second placed team qualifying to the Lebanese Premier League to replace the bottom two teams. History Salam Achrafieh won the inaugural edition of the Second Division, in 1933–34, after beating Ararad 2–0 in the final. There was no promotion or relegation system at the time, so Salam Achrafieh remained in the Second Division. In April 1935, Second Division clubs requested a promotion system to be implemented. Ali Tneich
Ali Samir Tneich ( ar, علي سمير طنيش; born 16 July 1992), also known as Sisi ( ar, السيسي, link=no), is a Lebanese footballer and former futsal player who plays as a midfielder for club Ansar and the Lebanon national team. Club career Tneich played for Salam Zgharta in the Lebanese Second Division, helping them finish second in the 2012–13 season and gain promotion to the Lebanese Premier League. Following a career a futsal player Tneich returned to football, joining Nejmeh ahead of the 2020–21 Lebanese Premier League season. On 13 December 2020, Tneich scored a long-distance goal against rivals Ansar, in a Beirut derby encounter in the league, to help Nejmeh win 2–1. Maxime Elias Aoun ( ar, مكسيم إلياس عون; born 4 March 2001) is a Lebanese footballer who plays as a centre-back for club Ansar. Club career Coming through Ansar's youth system, Aoun joined Sagesse on loan ahead of the 2021–22 Lebanese Premier League season. He only played once, as a substitute in a 3–0 defeat to Ansar on 18 September 2021. Nassar Mahmoud Nassar ( ar, نصار محمود نصار, ; born 1 January 1992) is a Lebanese footballer who plays as a right-back for club Ansar and the Lebanon national team. Nader Charbel Matar ( ar, نادر شربل مطر, ; born 12 May 1992) is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for club Ansar and the Lebanon national team. Matar began his senior career in 2008 in Portugal, playing for Sporting CP B and Oeiras. He moved to Spain in 2010, where he played for Atlético Madrid C and Canillas, before moving to Ghana-based Asante Kotoko in 2012. He returning to Portugal in 2014, playing six months at Beira-Mar.
