Akrata
Akrata, ( el, Ακράτα) is a town and a former municipality in Achaea, West Greece, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Aigialeia, of which it is a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 180.169 km2. Akrata is located on the right bank of the river Krathis, 3 km from its outflow into the Gulf of Corinth. The Greek National Road 8A/ E65 (Patras - Corinth) and the railway from Patras to Corinth pass through the municipal unit, northeast of the town. The nearest town is Aigeira, 4 km to the east. It is 23 km southeast of Aigio, 52 km east of Patras and 23 km northeast of Kalavryta. Aigialeia
Aigialeia ( el, Αιγιάλεια, ) is a municipality and a former province (επαρχία) in the eastern part of the Achaea regional unit, Greece. The seat of the municipality is the town Aigio. The municipality has an area of 723.063 km2. The main towns are Aigio, Akrata and Diakopto. The municipality Aigialeia stretches from the south coast of the Gulf of Corinth to the mountainous interior of the Peloponnese peninsula. The main rivers of the municipality are the Selinountas and the Vouraikos. Tsivlos
Tsivlos ( el, Τσιβλός) is a small mountain village in the municipality of Akrata, Achaea, Greece. It is part of the community Platanos. In 2011, it had a population of 9. It is built on the slopes of Mount Chelmos (Aroania), above the river Krathis, at about 750 m elevation. Lake Tsivlos, north of the village, was formed by a landslide in 1912. Tsivlos is located 12 km southwest of Akrata, 12 km northeast of Kalavryta and 11 km south of Platanos. Platanos, Achaea
Platanos ( el, Πλάτανος) is a village and a community in the municipal unit of Akrata, Achaea, Greece. In 2011 Platanos had a population of 231 for the village, and 259 for the community, which includes the mountain villages Ano Potamia, Korinthiako Balkoni and Tsivlos. The village Platanos consists of two parts: the seaside settlement Paralia Platanou (or Paralia Platanos) on the Gulf of Corinth and Platanos proper at about 250 m elevation on a mountain slope directly above Paralia Platanou. The villages Ano Potamia and Tsivlos are about 10 km south of Platanos. Platanos is 5 km west of Akrata and 18 km southeast of Aigio. Agia Varvara ( el, Αγία Βαρβάρα) is a small village in the municipal unit of Akrata, Achaea, Greece. In 2011 its population was 44 for the village and 66 for the community, including the village Vounaki. It is built on the forested slopes of Mount Chelmos (Aroania). Aigeira ( el, Αιγείρα) (, grc, Αἰγείρα or Αἴγειρα, la, Aegeira) is a town and a former municipality in northeastern Achaea, West Greece, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it has been a municipal unit of the Aigialeia municipality, with an area of 103.646 km2. The municipal unit stretches from the Gulf of Corinth, where the town of Aigeira is located, to the mountains in the south. Krathis
Krathis ( el, Κράθις, la, Crathis) is a river in the eastern part of Achaea, southern Greece. The river flows through the municipal unit of Akrata. It is long. Geography The river's course is from the south to the north. It begins in the northern part of the Chelmos mountains and flows through a deep valley. It passes the village Tsivlos and the town Akrata. The river empties into the Gulf of Corinth near Akrata. Sylivainiotika ( el, Συλιβαινιώτικα) is a village in Achaea, Greece, near the town of Akrata. Recent archaeological discoveries have revealed that there was a civilization in the village even in the middle Neolithic era. Aigio, also written as ''Aeghion, Aegion, Aegio, Egio'' ( el, Αίγιο, Aígio, ; la, Aegium), is a town and a former municipality in Achaea, West Greece, on the Peloponnese. Kalavryta
Kalavryta ( el, Καλάβρυτα) is a town and a municipality in the mountainous east-central part of the regional unit of Achaea, Greece.
