Apple Public Source License
The Apple Public Source License (APSL) is the open-source and free software license under which Apple's Darwin operating system was released in 2000. A free and open-source software license was voluntarily adopted to further involve the community from which much of Darwin originated. The first version of the Apple Public Source License was approved by the Open Source Initiative (OSI). Version 2.0, released July 29, 2003, is also approved as a free software license by the Free Software Foundation (FSF) which finds it acceptable for developers to work on projects that are already covered by this license. However, the FSF recommends that developers should not release new projects under this license, because the partial copyleft is not compatible with the GNU General Public License and allows linking with files released entirely as proprietary software. American Premier Soccer League
The American Premier Soccer League (APSL) was a soccer league sanctioned by the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA) with teams primarily in Southern Florida. Competition format The official regular season ran from January through September. For the playoffs, the four top seeded teams faced each other in semifinal games with championship being decided between the two winners. The APSL also organized a Fall Season that ran from September to December. Organization The APSL was organized in a mostly decentralized structure and was managed as a team-run league. Each year the member clubs helped elect a Commissioner, Treasurer and Secretary. Each team was individually owned and operated, and was responsible for maintaining league minimum standards. New teams seeking membership into the league were subject to approval from an executive committee of existing team owners. American Professional Soccer League
The American Professional Soccer League (APSL) was a professional men's soccer league with teams from the United States and later Canada. It was formed in 1990 by the merger of the third American Soccer League with the Western Soccer League. It was the first outdoor soccer league to feature teams from throughout the United States since the demise of the North American Soccer League in 1984. The league was sanctioned as Division II in the United States soccer league system but was the country's ''de facto'' top professional soccer league until 1995. In 1993, the APSL applied for the vacant Division I role but lost out to Major League Soccer who would begin play in 1996. For its final two seasons in 1995 and 1996, the APSL changed its name to the A-League. It was subsequently absorbed by the emerging USISL organization with six of seven clubs joining the new USISL A-League in 1997. The USISL (later USL) retained the A-League name until 2004 when it became the USL First Division. ...
