2023–24 Indian Super League
The 2023–24 Indian Super League is the 10th season of the Indian Super League (ISL) and the 28th season of top-tier in Indian football. Fixtures until December 2023 were announced on 7 September 2023. This season will have a mid-season break for the 2023 AFC Asian Cup. Mumbai City are the defending Premiers and Mohun Bagan SG (formerly ''ATK Mohun Bagan FC'') are the defending Champions. Changes from last season It will be the first season where the promoted I-League winner competes, thereby increasing the number of participating clubs to 12. Punjab FC became the first ever club to get promoted to the Indian Super League by winning the 2022–23 I-League. As per the new AFC Club Competitions Ranking structure, ISL clubs will not be eligible for a slot in the AFC Champions League; instead, the league premiers will qualify for the AFC Cup group stage, rebranded as ''AFC Champions League 2''. Sahal Abdul Samad (born 1 April 1997) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder or winger for Indian Super League club Kerala Blasters and the India national team. Club career Early life and youth career Sahal was born in Al Ain, UAE, to Malayali parents from Kerala, India and completed his 14 years of schooling at New Indian Model School in Al Ain. Merchas Ghazi Salih Doski (born 7 December 1999) is a professional footballer who plays as a left-back for Slovácko. Born in Germany, he represents the Iraq national team. Club career Born in Hanover, Doski grew up in the district of Vahrenheide. He played youth football with Arminia Hannover and Germania Egestorf/Langreder. Ali Ibrahim Karim Al-Hamadi ( ar, علي إبراهيم كريم الحمادي; born 1 March 2002) is an Iraqi professional footballer who plays as a forward for club AFC Wimbledon and the Iraq national football team. The 2023 Annual King's Cup Football Tournament ( th, ฟุตบอลชิงถ้วยพระราชทานคิงส์คัพ 2023), commonly referred to as 2023 King's Cup, will be the 49th King's Cup, the annual international men's football tournament organised by Football Association of Thailand.
