Matt Shirvington
Matt Shirvington (born 25 October 1978) is an Australian athlete and television presenter who held the Australian 100m national sprint title from 1998 to 2002. Shirvington is the third fastest Australian sprinter of all time. He qualified for the 100m semi-finals in Sydney 2000, finishing 5th. Shirvington is currently a sport presenter on '' Seven News Sydney'' and host of ''Sydney Weekender.'' Athletics Shirvington generally competed in the 100m, 200m and 4 x 100m relay events, finding the most success in the 100m sprint. He competed in the 2000 Olympic Games, the Athletics World Championships from 1999 to 2007 and the Commonwealth Games in 1998 and 2006. From 1998 Shirvington claimed five consecutive Australian national titles for the 100m sprint event. Christianity is the largest religion in Australia, with a total of 43.9% of the nation-wide population identifying with a Christian denomination. The presence of Christianity in Australia coincided with the foundation of the first British colony at New South Wales in 1788. According to the 2021 Census in Australia, the combined number of people who self-identified as Muslims in Australia, from all forms of Islam, constituted 813,392 people, or 3.2% of the total Australian population. Sarah Harris (born 13 July 1981) is an Australian television presenter and journalist. She is currently a co-host on Network 10's '' The Project'' and previously co-hosted the morning talk show ''Studio 10''. Early life Harris grew up in a block of housing commission flats in Mount Druitt, a western suburb of Sydney. She has one younger brother. Her father died of prostate cancer at 50. She is of Croatian descent through her grandparents, who emigrated to Australia. Career Harris studied journalism and international business at Queensland University of Technology. Waleed Aly
Waleed Aly (born 15 August 1978) is an Australian journalist, academic, and lawyer. Aly is a lecturer in politics at Monash University working in their Global Terrorism Research Centre, and a co-host of Network Ten's news and current affairs television program '' The Project''. He also writes for Fairfax Media, co-hosts ''The Minefield'', an ABC RN program about ethical dilemmas of modern life, and is lead guitarist in rock band Robot Child. In 2016, he won the Gold Logie Award for Best Personality on Australian Television. Early life and education Aly was born on 15 August 1978 in Melbourne, Victoria, to Egyptian parents. ''The Project'' (previously ''The 7PM Project'' from 2009 to 2011) is an Australian news- current affairs and talk show television panel program, airing weeknights across Australia on Network 10, produced by Roving Enterprises. The show is hosted by Waleed Aly, Sarah Harris, Georgie Tunny, and Hamish Macdonald with rotating daily guest panellists. The one-hour show, formerly half-hour, premiered on 20 July 2009 and airs live in the eastern states with delays in other states (including Queensland during daylight saving). Reuben Kaye (né Krum; born 22 September 1984) is an Australian singer, writer and comedian. Kaye's career is primarily based in the UK, but he has performed at comedy festivals internationally, including in Melbourne, Montréal, and Edinburgh. Kaye is recognizable for his signature drag makeup, and often performs with a full backing band. His performances combine stand-up comedy and cabaret, and are queer and political. Caroline Mary Jones (born Caroline Mary James; 1 January 1938 – 20 May 2022) was an Australian radio and television journalist and social commentator who had a career in the media industry for over 50 years. Career Jones joined the Australian Broadcasting Commission, now known as the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), in Canberra in 1963 and later became the first female reporter for the daily ''This Day Tonight'' current affairs television program. She then became a presenter on ''Four Corners'', a weekly current affairs television program, from 1972 to 1981.
