The 2023 Coastal Athletic Association Football Conference season is the 17th season of the Coastal Athletic Association Football Conference, branded as CAA Football, taking place during the 2023 NCAA Division I FCS football season. The season began on August 26, 2023 with non-conference play; conference play will begin on September 23, 2023. While this season is the first for the conference's full name of Coastal Athletic Association Football Conference, with the first word having been "Colonial" from 2007 through 2022, the brand name of CAA Football has been used since the multi-sports Coastal Athletic Association took over operation of the former Atlantic 10 football conference in 2007. NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision
The NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), formerly known as Division I-AA, is the second-highest level of college football in the United States, after the Football Bowl Subdivision. Sponsored by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the FCS level comprises 130 teams in 15 conferences as of the 2022 season. Mike Minter
Michael Christopher Minter (born January 15, 1974) is an American football coach and former player. He is the head football coach at Campbell University in Buies Creek, North Carolina, a position he has held since the 2013 season. Minter played professionally as a safety in the National Football League (NFL) for ten seasons, from 1997 to 2006, with the Carolina Panthers. He played college football at University of Nebraska–Lincoln and was selected by the Panthers in the second round of the 1997 NFL Draft. High school and college Minter attended Lawton High School in Lawton, Oklahoma where he started as running back and free safety. As a running back, he led the state with 1,589 yards rushing and 21 touchdowns on 187 carries as a senior. Minter also averaged 21 points per game in basketball. Ricky Santos
Ricky Santos (born April 26, 1984) is an American former gridiron football quarterback who is currently the head coach for the New Hampshire Wildcats football team. He played college football at New Hampshire, and was signed by the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent in 2008. Early years Santos attended Bellingham High School in Bellingham, Massachusetts, and was a letterman in football, basketball, baseball, and track and field. In football, he was a two-time Tri-Valley League MVP, was twice named the Division V Player of the Year, a two-time MetroWest Player of the Year, and, as a senior, won all-State honors. In November 2002, during the first annual Thanksgiving Day game against Norton, he threw for seven touchdown passes, which is still one of the best high school performances in Bellingham history. The New Hampshire Wildcats football program is the intercollegiate American football team for the University of New Hampshire located in the U.S. state of New Hampshire. Derek Robertson is an American football quarterback for the Monmouth Hawks. He previously played for the Maine Black Bears. High school career Robertson attended Iona Preparatory School in New Rochelle, New York. As a junior, Robertson threw for 2,774 yards and 27 touchdowns. As a senior, he threw for 2,556 yards and 31 touchdowns, before committing to play college football at the University of Maine. Robert Prunty
Robert Prunty is an American football coach. He is the head football coach at Hampton University, a position he has held since the 2018 season. Career Prunty was the head football coach for Gretna High School in Gretna, Virginia for several years. During his tenure, he led the program from suffering 44 consecutive losses from 1991 to 1995, to an 11–1 season in 2001. After his departure from Gretna, the program went on to win four state championships from 2003 to 2008. From Gretna, Prunty accepted a position as head football coach of Hargrave Military Academy.
