The European Judo Championships is the Judo European Championship organized by the European Judo Union. The 2015 and 2019 editions were held during the respective European Games. This is also expected for future editions of the European Games. Lukáš Krpálek
Lukáš Krpálek (; born 15 November 1990) is a Czech heavyweight judoka. He is a former world champion (2019) and European champion (2014), former and current Olympic Champion (2016, 2020). He is the most successful judoka in Czech and Czechoslovak history, and was named Czech Judoka of the Year eight times between 2008 and 2015. Personal life Krpálek took up judo by chance – he wanted to train in karate, but his uncle mistook judo for karate. His brother Michal is also a judoka who served as a sparring partner for the Czech judo team at the 2012 Summer Olympics. In 2015 Krpálek married Eva Kaderková; they have a son Antonín, born in 2016. Guram Tushishvili (born 5 February 1995) is a Georgian judoka. He won a gold medal at the 2018 World Judo Championships in men's +100 kg event. Tushishvili also won a gold medal in 2017 European Judo Championships in men's +100 kg event. On 29 March 2019 International Judo Federation disqualified before 29 May 2019. Henk Grol
Hindrik Harmannus Arnoldus "Henk" Grol (born 14 April 1985 in Veendam) is a retired Dutch judoka. Judo career Grol competed in the 2007 European Judo Championships in Belgrade, Serbia in the men's under 90 kg, as a replacement for Mark Huizinga, who cancelled last minute due to personal problems. He won gold in the men's under 100-kilo class at the 2008 European Judo Championships in Lisbon, Portugal. He was the youngest European Champion of that year, only 22 years old. After a highly competitive race against Elco van der Geest, Grol ended up to be the 2008 representative for the men's 100 kg category for the Netherlands at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. There he reached the semifinals, where he was beaten by Askhat Zhitkeyev from Kazakhstan. He went on to win bronze beating Levan Zhorzholiani from Georgia. Career He competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the -90 kg event and lost in the second round to Mark Anthony.
