2020 Indiana Elections
Indiana state elections in 2020 was held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. The primary elections were held on June 2, 2020. Primary candidates for the 2020 Attorney General election were not selected in the primary but in a primary convention on June 20, 2020. In addition to the U.S. presidential race, Indiana voters elected the Governor of Indiana, two of Indiana's executive officers, all of Indiana's seats to the House of Representatives, all of the seats of the Indiana House of Representatives, and 25 of 50 seats in the Indiana Senate. Neither of the state's two U.S. Senate seats were up for election in 2020. 2018 Indiana Elections
A general election was held in the U.S. state of Indiana on November 6, 2018. Three of Indiana's executive offices were up for election, as well as a United States Senate seat and all of Indiana's nine seats in the United States House of Representatives. United States Senate United States House of Representatives Secretary of State Incumbent Republican Secretary of State Connie Lawson, who was appointed to the office in 2012, ran for re-election to a second full term in office. Eric Holcomb
Eric Joseph Holcomb (born May 2, 1968) is an American politician who is the 51st and current governor of Indiana, serving since 2017. A member of the Republican Party, he served as the 51st lieutenant governor of Indiana from 2016 to 2017 under Governor Mike Pence, who left the governorship in 2017 to become the vice president of the United States. Holcomb was nominated to fill the remainder of Lieutenant Governor Sue Ellspermann's term after she resigned on March 2, 2016, to become president of Ivy Tech Community College. The League of Women Voters (LWV or the League) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan political organization in the United States. Founded in 1920, its ongoing major activities include registering voters, providing voter information, and advocating for voting rights. Curtis Hill
Curtis Theophilus Hill Jr. is an American prosecutor from the Republican Party who served as the 43rd Attorney General of Indiana from 2017 to 2021. A graduate of Indiana University and Indiana University School of Law, Hill was a lawyer in private practice and part-time prosecutor until 2002, when he was elected Elkhart County prosecutor. He was reelected to the post, ultimately serving four terms from 2003 before his election as state attorney general in 2016. In 2018, Hill was accused of sexual misconduct by four women, prompting calls for his resignation. Hill has denied the allegations. A subsequent investigation by a special prosecutor found the allegations credible, but also found that there was insufficient evidence to convict Hill of a crime. Todd Rokita
Theodore Edward Rokita (born February 9, 1970) is an American lawyer and politician serving as the 44th and current Attorney General of Indiana. He served as a member of the United States House of Representatives from from 2011 to 2019. A member of the Republican Party, he served two terms as Secretary of State of Indiana from 2002 to 2010. When Rokita was elected to office in 2002 at age 32, he became the youngest secretary of state in the United States at the time. Rokita was a candidate to replace Mike Pence in the 2016 Indiana gubernatorial election after Pence withdrew from the race to be Donald Trump's running mate in the 2016 U.S. presidential election.
