2019 Hungarian Local Elections
Hungarian local elections were held in Hungary on 13 October 2019. Mayors and assembly members were elected for a term of 5 years. Anthony John Abbott (; born 4 November 1957) is a former Australian politician who served as the 28th prime minister of Australia from 2013 to 2015. Hableány Disaster
''Hableány'' (; Hungarian for ''Mermaid'') was a river cruiser operated on the Danube river in Budapest, Hungary. On the rainy night of May 29, 2019, at 9:05 pm the '' Viking Sigyn'' collided with ''Hableány'' from behind under the Margaret Bridge near the Parliament Building. ''Hableány'' sank in 7 seconds. The heavy rainfall and the resulting strong currents hampered rescue efforts, with some bodies found 100 km downstream. With 2 Hungarian crew and 33 South Korean tourists on board, 7 tourists were rescued at the scene; one person is still missing and all others were later found to be dead. Vessels ''Hableány'' was a Moskvitch-class river cruise boat with two open decks and a capacity of 45 passengers for sightseeing and 60 passengers for other configurations. The Hungarian Socialist Party ( hu, Magyar Szocialista Párt), commonly known by its acronym MSZP, is a centre-left social-democratic and pro-European political party in Hungary. It was founded on 7 October, 1989 as a post-communist evolution and one of two legal successors of the Hungarian Socialist Workers' Party (MSZMP). Progressive Alliance Of Socialists And Democrats
The Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats (S&D) is the political group in the European Parliament of the Party of European Socialists (PES). The Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats was officially founded as a Socialist Group on 29 June 1953 which makes it the second oldest political group in the European Parliament after Renew Europe (Renew). It adopted its present-day name on 23 June 2009.
