2016–17 Eredivisie
The 2016–17 Eredivisie season was the 61st season of the top-tier Dutch League Eredivisie since its establishment in 1956. The fixtures for this season were announced on 14 June 2016. Teams A total of 18 teams took part in the league: The best fifteen teams from the 2015–16 season, two promotion/relegation playoff winners and the 2015–16 Eerste Divisie champions. Sparta Rotterdam, the champion of the 2015–16 Eerste Divisie, returned to the Eredivisie after spending six seasons in the Eerste Divisie, whereas play-off winner Go Ahead Eagles returned to the Eredivisie after just one season. They replaced relegated teams Cambuur and De Graafschap. As a result of financial maladministration, the KNVB had originally taken FC Twente's license, causing them to relegate to the 2016-17 Eerste Divisie. ASV De Dijk
Amsterdamse Sport Vereniging De Dijk are a Dutch amateur association football club from the Amsterdam borough of Amsterdam-Noord, in the neighborhood of Schellingwoude. The club was founded on 1 June 1999 out of a fusion of two clubs, Rood Wit-A and ASV Schellingwoude. The club hold a Sunday team, competing in the Derde Divisie (formerly Topklasse). History Rood Wit-A were founded on 13 April 1921 as VVA (Voetbal Vereniging Augustinus) joining the Katholieke Voetbalbund (Catholic football union). The name of the club was then changed to RKVVA, following the fusion of the IVCB and the KNVB, in order to tell them apart from VVA who were already competing in the KNVB. In 1957 the club merged with the gymnastics and handball clubs SVA and VDO, as well as the table tennis club KK (Katholieke Kring), becoming an Omni sports club by the name of RKSV Rood Wit Amsterdam. RKVV Westlandia
RKVV Westlandia is a football club from Naaldwijk, Netherlands. In the 2023–24 season, the Sunday male first squad Westlandia is competing in the Vierde Divisie (fifth tier). The Saturday first squad plays in the Eerste Klasse after promoting in 2016. History The Sunday first team won a section championship at the 2008–09 Hoofdklasse, 2008–09 Hoofdklasse A. At that time, the Hoofdklasse was the highest tier of Dutch amateur football. The Saturday first squad has been making fast progress. It started playing in 2004–5 in the Vijfde Klasse. ASWH, short for Altijd Sterker Worden Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht, is an association football club from Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht, Netherlands. The club was founded in 1929. The club won section championships in 1949, 1959, 1961, 1970, 1883, 1999, 2001, 2002, and 2005. In 2005 it also won the Dutch Championship of Amateur Soccer and the Dutch Championship of Saturday Soccer. Quick Boys
Quick Boys is an amateur football club from Katwijk aan Zee, Netherlands. The club, established on February 1, 1920, is the second most successful amateur football club in the Netherlands, behind IJsselmeervogels. The club joined the football competition in 1921–22, in the ''Leidsche Voetbal Bond'' (LVB), the football association for Leiden. The club played in the Sunday league but a ban on entry charges on Sunday caused financial troubles and Quick Boys moved to the new Saturday league. Quick Boys have played at the highest amateur level since the founding of the club in 1920. The club won 9 titles in the ''Eerste Klasse'', and joined the new Saturday Hoofdklasse in 1996, winning a further four titles. The 2015–16 season of the Hoofdklasse is competed in six leagues, three Saturday leagues and three Sunday leagues. The champions of each group will be promoted directly to the 2016–17 Derde Divisie.
