Global News
Global News is the news and current affairs division of the Canadian Global Television Network. The network is owned by Corus Entertainment, which oversees all of the network's national news programming as well as local news on its 21 owned-and-operated stations. Corus also operates several talk radio stations under the "Global News Radio" brand. The same division also operates a news website under the same brand. Big Brother Canada (season 3)
The third season of ''Big Brother Canada'' began airing on March 23, 2015. It featured sixteen HouseGuests, an increase from the prior two seasons. The series moved to Global Television Network with this season, previously airing on the smaller Slice channel. The move resulted in an increase in ratings, making it the highest rated season at the time; it has since been surpassed by the fourth season. The house featured a "steampunk" theme, while the season featured more twists than its predecessors. It is the first season to feature a triple eviction, a twist that has been used in later seasons. Lasting for a total of ten weeks, the season concluded on May 27 when Sarah Hanlon was named the winner. Evan Solomon
Evan Solomon (born April 20, 1968) is a Canadian columnist, political journalist, radio host, and publisher. Until 2022, he was the host of ''The Evan Solomon Show'' on Toronto-area talk radio station CFRB, a writer for ''Maclean's'' magazine, and the host of CTV's national political news programs ''Power Play'' and ''Question Period''. In October 2022, he moved to New York City to accept a position with the Eurasia Group as publisher of GZERO Media. Solomon continues with CTV News as a "special correspondent" reporting on Canadian politics and global affairs." The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (french: Société Radio-Canada), branded as CBC/Radio-Canada, is a Canadian public broadcaster for both radio and television. ''The Peterborough Examiner'' is a newspaper that services Peterborough, Ontario and area. The paper started circulation in 1847, and is currently owned by Torstar and operated by its Metroland division. Between 1942 and 1955, it was edited by Canadian man of letters Robertson Davies, whose unique three-paragraph editorial style won several awards. Davies remained owner and publisher of the ''Examiner'' and Ralph Hancox the editor until 1967, when it was sold to the Thomson chain of newspapers. Subsequently, Sterling, Hollinger and Sun Media owned the newspaper before Postmedia. ''The Peterborough Examiner'' was one of several Postmedia newspapers purchased by Torstar in a transaction between the two companies which concluded on November 27, 2017. Bell Media Inc. ( French: ) is a Canadian company formed by the amalgamation of several companies. Establishment (2011–13) On December 9, 2011, the Ontario Teachers' Pension Plan announced the sale of its majority stake in Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment to BCE and its rival, Rogers Communications, in a deal valued at around $1.32 billion. Additionally, Larry Tanenbaum increased his stake in the company to 25%. The deal closed in August 2012. Kingston, Ontario
Kingston is a city in Ontario, Canada. It is located on the north-eastern end of Lake Ontario, at the beginning of the St. Lawrence River and at the mouth of the Cataraqui River (south end of the Rideau Canal). CKWS-DT (channel 11) is a television station in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, part of the Global Television Network. Owned and operated by network parent Corus Entertainment, the station maintains studios on Queen Street in downtown Kingston, and its transmitter is located near Highway 95 on Wolfe Island, south of the city.
