Television in Australia began experimentally as early as 1929 in Melbourne with radio stations 3DB and 3UZ, and 2UE in Sydney, using the ''Radiovision'' system by Gilbert Miles and Donald McDonald, and later from other locations, such as Brisbane in 1934.Carty, Bruce, ''On the Air: Australian Radio History'', privately published, 2011, Gosford, NSW Mainstream television was launched on 16 September 1956 in Willoughby, New South Wales, with Nine Network station TCN-9 Sydney. The Project (New Zealand TV Programme)
''The Project'' is a New Zealand current affairs show hosted by Jesse Mulligan, Kanoa Lloyd, and Jeremy Corbett with rotating guest panelists. It premiered on 20 February 2017 as a replacement for ''Story'' and airs from 7 pm weeknights on Three. The show runs for half an hour. It was simulcast on RadioLive, Monday – Thursday, until 5 June 2017. The show's format was purchased from Roving Enterprises and is the same as that of the Australian version, '' The Project'', which airs on Network Ten. BBC First (Australia)
BBC First is an entertainment subscription television channel broadcasting in Australia. It is the localised version of the internationally available BBC First. The channel is wholly owned and operated by BBC Studios. History On 17 April 2013, it was announced that the BBC had forged a new exclusive deal with Australian subscription television provider Foxtel which would see a new channel launched that would feature comedy and drama content, with programming screening as close to their original UK transmission as possible. The following day it was announced that this deal resulted in the end of a 50-year-old deal with Australian free-to-air broadcaster ABC which they were not consulted about. Despite the new exclusive deal with Foxtel, it does not affect 'grandfathering' agreements whereby series that are currently broadcasting on other networks are not affected and will remain on their current network. ''The Voice'' is an Australian singing competition television series. It premiered on the Nine Network on 14 April 2012, before moving to the Seven Network in 2021. Based on the original ''The Voice of Holland'', and part of The Voice (TV series), ''The Voice '' franchise, its first nine seasons aired on the Nine Network, with its tenth season commencing on the Seven Network on 8 August 2021. The third season of ''The Voice'', the Australian reality talent show, premiered on 4 May 2014 and concluded on 21 July 2014 with Anja Nissen being crowned the winner. Both Kylie Minogue and will.i.am joined the show this season (replacing Delta Goodrem and Seal, respectively) but left at the end of the season. Anja Nissen
Anja Nissen (born 6 November 1995), sometimes known as simply Anja, is a Danish and Australian singer. She was the winner of the third series of ''The Voice Australia''. Following her win, Nissen was signed to Universal Music Group and lists her influences as Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Christina Aguilera, Toni Braxton and Stevie Wonder. In 2015, Nissen was the support act for Olly Murs on his Australian ''Never Been Better'' tour. In 2016, Nissen competed in '' Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2016'', Denmark's national final for the Eurovision Song Contest, performing the song " Never Alone". She came in second place with 36% of the vote. In 2017, Nissen competed in ''Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2017'' with the song " Where I Am", which she co-wrote. ABC TV, formerly known as ABC1, is an Australian national public television network. It is owned and operated by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, and is the flagship ABC Television network. John Walton (1952 – 17 July 2014) was an Australian actor of stage, television, and film, best known for his roles in television soap operas''The Young Doctors'' and ''The Sullivans.'' Walton was born in St. Ives, Sydney, Australia. Roles He played Doctor Craig Rothwell in the television soap opera The Young Doctors during 1976 and 1977. In 1984, he also appeared in the miniseries ''Bodyline'', and he played the part of Sir Charles Kingsford Smith in the Australian mini-series ''A Thousand Skies''. He also completed a stint in ''Heartbreak High'' playing Nat Delaine from 1997 until 1998. ''Outrageous Fortune'' is a New Zealand family comedy crime drama television series, which ran from 12 July 2005 to 9 November 2010 on TV3. The series followed the lives of the career criminal West family after the matriarch, Cheryl (Robyn Malcolm), decided the family should go straight and abide by the law.
